My recollection is that it is starchy. I did a google and there was a doc that said starch is the major carb in buckwheat .. no good for NSD then. If you want to experiment with it outside of NSD that is your call, you can find buckwheat in a japanese noodle called "soba".

Rutin as a supplement is fine though for NSD. Maybe search ebay? I can usually find it in any big health food shop that has a very wide range of nutritional supplements.
