This has nothing to do with pain meds, but I'm wondering... a sister of mine had several of her finger joints "trimmed up" and fused straight. I don't know the medical term for this, but basically the doctor cut off all the overgrowth of bone and refused the bones at a better angle. I wonder why this can't be done with the spine? My two other sisters, an aunt, and a cousin have each had several vertebrae surgically fused as well, though I admit to not knowing exactly how this was done. Of course, the finger joints are nowhere near the spinal cord ~ probably I just answered my own question here. Do you know if there's a spine straightening surgery?
