Covering up plants can help a lot. I can give you several degrees protection. The plastic will help better if you can prevent it from touching the plants. If it is cold enough, anywhere the plastic touches the plants, it might cause damage. Try to stake up the plastic if you can so that there is a air space between the plastic and the plant.
I hope I am making sense, This is one of those get up way too early because I hurt too much to stay in bed days. I woke up at 4, laid in bed till 5:30 and finally got up to serf the web. I'm trying to not wake up the family.
