I like your attitude about the snow.It is unpredictable. All we can do is prepare. I usually have an overnight kit in each vehicle incase I am called out of town, or if I would get stuck. Everything is 130 miles form here, so we jsut feel better knowing we would not freeze.
Many people from warmer climates have migrated here, and do not know how to drive in the snow and on ice.
