With me, it was my wife who informed me of the relationship between AS and the weather. I rejected it initially as an old wives tale. Then one day last month or so, I was out walking my dog during an unseasonably cold night. I could feel the pain increase from the cold air (living by the ocean makes the air wet all of the time). If this is an "old wives tale" then I guess that makes me an Old Wife.

Here in Canada, it is considered quite common for elderly people to move to hot, dry climates in their retirement years. Phoenix is a popular attraction for this reason. I hadn't heard about heat causing arthritis pain to increase before but I suppose it shouldn't surprise me. On the Wet Coast of Canada, excessive heat is not a problem I have to deal with very often.

Getting a pool to lounge in all summer long sounds like a great idea if you have the means. I could imagine getting used to that.

Good luck Jeff, I hope you find a way to "beat the heat" this summer.
