Hi Lisa, Michelle at
http://www.encouragingpaws.com/ is already talking to a breeder she uses, to get me a dog. She said she will deliver the puppy to my door. Michelle of Encouraging paws, lives in Hamilton, 45 minutes from my home. She will come to my home every week or two to teach me lessons on how to train my service dog. Puppy will be trained, as a hearing guide dog, mobility service dog, and social theraphy dog. So I have my work cut out for myself. Makayla, will have a puppy in training service jacket, and I will get a card saying she is my in training service dog. When she is fully trained then she will get her perimanent service dog jacket, and I will get my perimanent license. I was surprised when she said that Makayla will be able to go everywhere as a full trained service dog. She has to learn how to help me in public, doctor's offices, and go everywhere I go.
I can't wait but have to get money together.
In Ontario, you can claim the service dogs food, and vet bills as your medical expense, on your income tax, I was surprised, but it totally legal.
Hugs
Gerri
