George, I sorry to her your grand nephew so sick with meningitis.
My son st 21 months had bacteria meningitis with septicemia. He was blind, had seizures and paraylised coming home from the hospital. He nearly loss his fingers and toes. At the time they put him into a drug induced coma. He was in the hospital for over a month.
At three the seizures were controlled, and had stopped. At twelve the seizures were back. He now suffers from Raynauds syndrome, and has very poor circulation. He isn't blind, but he sees everything upside down and backwards (dysgraphia). He also suffers from seizures (petite mal), for which he can not have surgery for. He would be left blind or paralyside. He is 29 now he has his grade 12 in regular school, and diploma for a college course that taught him to become a personal support worker.
He has Raynauds, seizures, and dysgraphia(from menigitis).
Auditory processing disorder,AS and sleep apnea from his dear mom, and he is the most loving adult around.
There is a future for Robbie.
