If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I used to get brutally bad toe spasms that would then lead to Charlie-horse like calf cramps. On one particular occasion I was in Las Vegas with friend, after flying for about 6hours we all went to the pool. One of the gang dove in, so I sorta walked over and dove in too. As soon as I hit the water the toes locked up and I could hardly move let alone swim out. Lotsa laughs for the friends because I never lt them know how much it hurt and how scared I was.
It used to happen after long walks or long periods of being seated. Seemed to happen often before I fused not so much now. I figured in 20/20 hindsight a lot of it had to do with the changes to my body due to the AS causing stride changes when walking so that I'd cramp violently when the walk was over or how I'd sit awkwardly to avoid pain.
Steve, I can relate to the toe and foot cramping whilst walking and swimming. It has happened to me ever since I was knee high to a grasshopper. (Definitely since I was a sub-teen and I am now 51).
Until now I never figured that it really meant anything. It was just something that happened every so often, especially after I had been swimming.
Ok, now for the confession: I cramped in my feet on the afternoon that I put a fracture in my elbow. This happened at age 30. I was in the USA at the time, and had taken my children roller skating. At the very end of the session, my feet cramped and went numb, I fell backwards, and ended up on my back. I had a sore elbow, and a few hours later, noticed that it was swollen (duh, I should have known from the initial pain that things were not right). Anyway, it was my right elbow and I had to pick up my youngest and drive the children home. My husband refused to take me across to the military hospital at Wright Patterson Air Force base, and so I drove myself to the hospital. By this time I could barely sign my name. Then, after the x-rays, and examination, I had to phone my husband to tell him to come and fetch me
I still cramp in my foot. It appears to the the ligaments that slide over the top of the foot. Sometimes it happens despite wearing the orthotics, and other times it happens because my feet have been too sore to wear the orthotics. However, this is nothing like what Kenawee is describing.
I get that movement in my fingers. It is really quite amusing to sit there and watch as they move all by themselves.
Maggie
