Well, the great news is that you have shown yourself that changing your diet can positively influence your health!

No amount of entreaties, information, quotes from others, from me or anyone else here can have the same effect as good, old fashioned, experimentation upon yourself.

I don't think there is one universal "best" diet for anyone, although I think there are guidelines that people should attempt to follow to find their own path thru life. Sometimes, some of us get a much harder path to follow than others. If you were a normal person, I'd even suggest that you go ahead and eat whole grains....but.....if we were normal, none of us would be here .

I was eating a bowl of raw fruit and veggies when I first read your question, and my immediate "gut" reaction was how ridiculous, fruit is good for you as long as it's ripe. Humans are pretty much omnivores designed to eat fruit, nuts, meat, fish, and veggies. We were not necessarily evolved to live on beer, white sugar, and white flour, however.

The problem with your query is that I don't think anybody eating NSD is drinking beer and eating white wheat flour regularly. I can say that if we were, however, then adding fruit into an already upset system on starch and sugar overload and then blaming the fruit for the problems is not going to be productive.

For your ears, if cow dairy lactose is the actual culprit, avoiding fruit is also not going to do anything.

So if you have not already, I would suggest that you once again try a diet that avoids dairy, beer (yeasts and malts..bad), sugars (I consider alcohol liquid sugar) and white flour. You know at least one of those is causing your ears to have problems. Now we come to the $64 question....give up the starches in grain products or the simple sugars in the fruits. If you trial giving up the starches in grains,as in going NSD, you may discover that you can once again tolerate fruits. But only you can tell if it is going to work for you.
