I agree with the others that you should see a Rheumatologist, they specialize in arthritic conditions and mobility issues and are most apt to agree to a HLA B27 genetic test. I have heard that accidents/trauma may trigger AS, so your past experience is not irrelevant to this dx.
I also think your various symptoms are consistent with AS. In case no-one has mentioned yet, be careful to watch out for any future eye pain, as there's an associated (low) risk (approx 30%? of us) that develope iritis,... which requires immediate emerg attention, should the possibility ever crop up.
