My GP ordered tons of tests before sending my to my rheumy, but it was my rheumy who ordered me tested for HLA-B27. I was positive by the way, and I'm in Ontario.

I was very lucky. I didn't even know about AS, but my Doc suspected it. He ordered the test and it was done the same day. I guess it depends on your GP.
