If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

No asthma but am very allergic to the dust mites that molly points up. We have hard wood floors, shades and light lace curtains that are easy to wash instead of heavy drapery, wash the bedding often....do wonder how bad my recliner is?
Vit D: I found I need about 10,000 IU daily to maintain a D level of 60 or above. I know that's a lot, but its what my body needs for whatever reason. Been doing it for years, but I still needed humira.
Look below my name for the other supplements I take, things I do.
These things help, but still after trying all these things, only humira (and methylpred) gave me my life back.
sue
Spondyloarthropathy, HLAB27 negative Humira (still methylprednisone for flares, just not as often. Aleve if needed, rarely.) LDN/zanaflex/flector patches over SI/ice vits C, D. probiotics. hyaluronic acid. CoQ, Mg, Ca, K. chiro walk, bike no dairy (casein sensitivity), limited eggs, limited yeast (bread)

Know that LDN has helped me so much with the inflammation in my spine.

I have asthma as well. Was hospitalized for it, needed prednisone on many occasions and neb treatments. I took daily inhalers for years. In an effort to help my pain symptoms from AS I drastically changed my diet. Along with being starch free I am gluten, grain, soy and dairy free as well. Happy to say I have not need inhalers or any other form of treatment for asthma in over a year.

Horrible lulu, just horrible.
I don't know how we still survive this [*bleep*] at all.
I nearly suffocated from my asthma several times and was saved in hospital they pumped me full of steroids.
Your asthma sounds well controlled, I am sure you will be rid of it and will not return.
Well done for that!
What about AS?
Tell me your symptoms what are you taking?

I have resisted going on meds for AS. 2 rheumys recommended biologics, one enbrel the other humira. Because I also have a history of lyme disease I have been afraid to take anything that will shut down my immune system. Of course my lyme doctor insisted that my symptoms were due to lyme not AS.....anyway my symptoms are SI joint pain and inflammation. The pain was debilitating but the diet changes helped knock it down a lot. I also recently did 3 courses of an antibiotic called rifaximin which helped a lot as well.

I have a P.A I really like. She checked d levels they were not good. I take D3 every day now. She said it would help with my sinus's. Don't know if she was right but have not had a bad sinus infection for two years. In fact have not taken a antibiotic in two years. I have been getting into the fringe cheese area and I can tell with the nose and breathing. Time to back off, seems like I just have to push everything now, then the ol AS God smacks me down and I enjoy a flare. Then it's Apple fast here we go time. ETTE. Darrel

Why did they reject you for humira? I was initially denied as well, but I believe it's because I had the wrong diagnosis but they did want me to try a bunch of other meds first. I also have asthma and AS.
Serita AS, Fibromyalgia?, Asthma AS dx June 2014 HUMIRA 40 mg pen 2x month Flexiril 10mg 1x daily Advair 500 2x daily Singulair 10mg 1x daily Omeprazole 40mg 1x daily Meloxicam 15mg 1x day

Hi, Actually, I saw your claim about prolonged sun exposure suppressing the immune-system and looked into it. Please read this article: UVA and UVB rays and immunosuppression This is a complex article and frankly my eyes crossed at several points, but it seems that after a certain amount of exposure to UVA rays, the immune-suppression ceases. UVB is more problematic, but it is possible that the UVA long-term response could mitigate the UVB response. It also appeared to me that this response had more to do with skin cancers than anything else. Please will somebody whose eyes don't cross after a certain point read this and tell us what the outcome is? Honestly, I wish I had a medical brain. It's not often these days that a research paper gets the best of me, but every so often one does. When we are immune suppressed we do have to take more care in the sun, but I have difficulty believing that after 2,000,000 years of human evolution, we haven't evolved to cope with the various rays. Especially considering that sunscreen has only been around for a few decades. I am Vitamin D deficient and now take 5,000 to 7,000 IU of Vitamin D every week. Will have to for the rest of my life. A lot of modern diseases are linked to this and I have to wonder if sunscreen hasn't been part of the problem. Also, living in the northern hemisphere where it's dark for 10 years every 12 months! In fact, I'd be willing to bet it's where I live that is the problem as I don't use sunscreen - it is itself a cancer-causing agent in some people: Huffington Post article I'm sorry you also have asthma to deal with. Sometimes, it just seems too much, doesn't it. Warm hugs,
Kat

Hello everyone, Thank you for you interesting posts. Why did they reject you for humira? My sedimentation rate was not high enough. I am now left to die at home and poison myself to death with NSAID. I hope I have a heart attack soon, I am taking a double dose of Celebrex 400 mg.
