Thanks everyone for all the feedback!! I really appreciate it. I have gone low/no starch and am finally out of a 2 month flare! wooo!I also just got a stool test done so that I can see what I'm up against in terms of stomach problems. It sounds like a lot of us have not only Kleb, but also Candida, parasites, etc. I am very early in the disease (about a year of SI Joint pain), so I am hoping to nip it in the bud!

I see some people have tried eating sticky/ glutinous rice?
Last year I spent 3 months in Japan and my back pain improved a lot during that time even though I was eating TONS of rice. I'm wondering if it might be a safe food... but I'm gonna give it some more time before I try it. Can anyone share experiences with sticky/ glutinous rice?

Betty Rawker, your website is awesome! Thanks so much for sharing those recipes!! Starting out on this diet is hard because it feels so overwhelming and so limited... being able to try out awesome recipes is good for my tummy and my spirit smile

Sweet!! So glad you enjoyed the recipes!

I am compling a recipe book full of low starch recipes from some awesome NSD vetrens and hope to have it out as an ebook this fall!!

I'm now a KICK AS (and Kick IBD) success story!! After going low starch Paleo to heal my gut, I can now eat nearly all starches, grains & foods without inflammation, flare-ups, or pain. I used a modified SCD diet approach (minus dairy! plus cacao ♥). Cheers to healing & thriving again! I blog at http://www.forestandfauna.com/about/

Hi songstress06,
I take tons of vitamins and supplements also and learned the hard way that many of them are filled with starch! Ugh. Now I read the label and only buy the ones that say starch free. Also, it has taken me a long time to figure out what I react to. For a long time I was eating eggs and not improving until I finally figured out that I was reacting to them even though there is no starch. So keep your mind open when you are not improving it could be something like that doesnt react to the iodine yet you are still sensitive to. Good luck!

AS, RA, Lyme
Zithromax
Ceftin
NSD, probiotics, tons of vitamins/supplements/herbs
