I have super dry eyes and on Restasis now. It takes months to work but they do work. I also use an over the counter eye drop that soothes all three layers of the eyes call Fresh Kote. It helps more then any or the other drops I've found and they are expensive. I had to have my pharmacy order them for me due to the expense. Hot gel mask help somewhat. I can't have punctal plugs because my holes are rotated too far back into the eye and they would scratch my eyes so I haven't gone that route but hear that it helps.

I have severe dry eyes also. Here's what my optho told me to do.
Use Restasis twice a day.
Use a humidifier next to your head of your bed.
Genteal Gel(Wal-Mart, walgreens, carries it)
http://www.amazon.com/GenTeal-Lubricant-...rds=genteal+gel

For the pain, the genteal gel(severe) can be used during the day also.

Don't sit under ceiling fans, and don't aim your cars ac at you.

Oasis Tears plus - http://www.amazon.com/Oasis-TEARS-PLUS-Eyedrops/dp/B006R62UZO/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt

I've also had punctal plugs put in my tear ducts. Two times - Both temporary and permanent.

Be careful if it hurts pretty bad. you need to go in. Mine had corneal abrasion and perforation. You'll need special drops for that.

Thanks !
I will look into Restasis ( wonder if it treats ocular rosacea too ?) , Nonnie what did the corneal abrasion and perforation feel like and did you have lasting damage ?

Happiness isn't having what you want - it is about wanting what you have ….or maybe Accepting what you have …er ya that is it …..I think 👀
