Like already said, Lidoderm is only lidocaine. I've tried it on various parts of my body and about the only place it worked (as well as stayed put) was over the side of my knee where I was feeling some nerve pain off L4-5/L5/L5-S1 areas.

When my marvelous pain mgmt doc prescribed them, I was hoping they would make my feet feel better. Unfortunately, feet sweat and those patches slide around. Then I tried them over SI. Didn't work, but did stay put, sort of. Tried them on my wrists, but they didn't do much and they got in the way of work.

But they work for some people. Worth a try if your insurance covers them. It was the highest copay on mine. frown Now I have what could be a lifetime supply. LOL.

Sorry, I really forgot that you currently don't have insurance. I hope things work out for you soon. Thinking of you.

Hi GA,

I use the Lidoderm patches on my arm for nerve damage(along with meds) They do help with that.

I also have some very good "ice" packs that I use called Sensaflex. I bought the originals from a chiro I was seeing about 5 years ago. They are actually hot and cold packs. It's covered with a washable fabric, so it's very comfortable on your skin. I still put a cloth over them though because it does get cold. You put them in the freezer for cold, and microwave for hot. I have the neck and one 10x13. I use the 10x13 and like it the most, so I'm getting ready to order some more from the website below.

Ah cool! Thanks for the link Nonnie. Looks like they are on sale too Wahooo....my type of buy!

My Mom gave me a gift last night that is a heating pad for my neck (I'm the 'abby normal' that when my remission stopped, AS came back in full force in my neck).

Sue mentioned the ice and for the last few days I have been cutting a path to the freezer and it IS helping. Thanks Everyone for the suggestions (funny how the logical things don't always jump out for us).
