To be fair, the rheumatologist's recommendation for exercise and physical therapy/massage is a good one and you shouldn't brush it off because he doesn't claim to have a cure-all.

Marb,
I completely agree. I have a fantastic physio who was in fact the first person who suggested my joint pain and stiffness were of an inflammatory nature. I'm most definitely going back to see him for treatment and yes I'll continue swimming as i have done for the last 10 years ( which has always been not only excercise but a support for the pain in my back and neck).
You misjudge me because I'm a little cross and astounded that the rheumy looked me square in the eye and said there was nothing wrong with me when I have been in chronic pain for 2 weeks solid.
I used to be a dancer, I've achieved advanced yoga at one stage so Im very pro exercise, stretching, massage, etc. I totally believe in looking after our own bodies - I'm just peeved at the medical investigstive outcome.

While I type this on my iPhone I'm sitting on half lotus on my bed stretching out my right hip which is still making me limp. See wink

Thanks for taking note though,
Wish me luck with the diet and exercise,
I wish you the same

Claire
