If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I was diagnosed 2 years ago with AS. A month ago, I finished a 15 month predinsone taper. I am home from work because I am so sore and tired. My liver is also flaring up. Is this just par for the AS course? I keep looking for another answer and another diagnosis, but am I wrong? Is this just all part of it? Thanks for feedback.

Hi Katieb,
Welcome to KA. I hope you find what you are looking for. Unfortunately, I can't help. I've never heard of the liver being involved in AS. I don't doubt that the AS dragon would attack any organ in the human body, but in my well over 30 years fighting him, he never once tried that one with me. Good Luck. Let us know what you find.
Dean

Are you taking any meds that can cause the Liver problems? Usually it is one of the meds that we take, rather then the AS that is the cause of the problem. You need to see your doctor ASAP. Liver problems can be serious.

My liver enzymes have been elevated for years - no answers yet for the cause. You should always have your doctor check you though.

wondering if the liver involvement is due to prednisone use or some other drug? what do your doctors think?
sore and tired, inflammatory arthritis / AS can definitely be the culprit.

The little I know about liver problems is that it is caused by a couple things, medications such as sulfasalizine . One member here had to stop sulfasalizine because it was damaging his liver. I guess everyone knows too much alcohol can damage a liver. Maybe go to a search engine and type in AS and liver damage, sometimes someone from a message board will have had the same problem. Good job getting off the prednisone, that is BIG. Hope you feel better soon and find out what is going on with your body. Take care,
Diet change has improved my RA. I feel best eating raw veggies and some fruits and avoiding grains, sugars, nightshades, beans and dairy. Sed rate dropped from 65 to 19, but it took over a year. www.fatsickandnearlydead.com excess fat/oils = pain for me recipes for raw food on Youtube "raw food romance" and "healing josephine" Josephine is in remission from RA after two years by change diet/exercise
