Just wanted to share the good news. According to my rheumatologist I am currently in remission and just need to keep taking some sulfasalazine each day and keep working on improving my posture! Feels good!

He did recommend I have a test for osteoporosis though as apparently it is more common with AS. Guess I'll get that done.

Phil

good to hear this phil!
tell me, what were the facts that driven the rheumy to this conclusion?

34. Some rheumys say AS stage 1-2 some others say USpA
Also UC - rectocolitis.

UC curently in remission since feb 2011.
AS/USpA remission march-aug 2011. Flare - sept-nov 2011 (antibiotics). Remission now...

Modified NSD/SCD. Cook your own !

Thanks all!

He has looked at my c-reactive protein and some other results over the last few months and it has dropped from something like 16 when I first started seeing him to around 0.05 now. I also have none of the pain that I had when I first started to see him and am overall feeling much better.

I am still suffering fatigue quite a lot though I think that is because of my insomnia which has always been a problem for me and is worse lately because of personal reasons.

I still have a little pain, mainly in the chest sometimes and lower back. The doctor believes this is mainly due to muscle weakness and because of my efforts lately to improve my posture which has been poor for years. He recommended that I join a gym or something to strengthen the muscles and continue to work on the posture.

I am seeing him again in a few months to make sure everything is still going well.
