If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi Michelle .... I have been extremely anxious about this eye thing.....after reading Johns post...I really feel I am ok....it makes sense to me and I think I can calm down....I am not having the light sensitivity....and it is the vessels in my eyes too that are a nasty red...now...if I can stay calm and reassurred like this until I see the doc on Thursday...that's the trick ....I might be back in panic mode by tomorrow morning..but I will not mess around with this..you can be sure of that ...thank so much for your reply.... Debbie, Thank goodness for John! I agree with your thinking it is just "pink eye" if you don't have the light sensitivity! Good to hear you don't have to deal with iritis too! Sorry to scare you, I guess I am just hyper sensitive! Janet

Good Morning Deb, Hope your eyes are better this morning. Your research is right,Conjuntivitis is good old fashioned pink eye. Keep an eye, no pun intended, on Becca, and Jim for symptoms I don't know what riding a Kawasaki has to do with it, being a Harley man myself , but it must affect Fo... Fffffoooo....ah, white truck owners. Man I just can't get that word out.....
Keep Kickin'AS Chris

While it looks like conjunctivitis, it may be the result of irritation from dry eye (Sjogren's syndrome) and unrelated to a virus. I first found out I had Sjogren's when I woke up one morning with crusty eyes and the whites were bright red. Do your eyes feel "sandy" or "starched"? Scratchy? With dry eye there is no real sensititivity to light (as with the more serious disorders), just a really uncomfortable dry scratchy feeling. So get to an eye doc ASAP and have him/her do a "tear" test to gauge your tear production. Dry eye DOES NOT MEAN you produce no tears, in fact your eyes could be watering more than usual due to the irritation. What it means is that the oily substance in tears is not being produced in sufficient quantity to lubricate the eyes. And yes, Sjogren's is a very common thing in autoimmune disorders. If it is dry eye (Sjogren's) get some very good quality artificial tears - - the stuff the doc gave you probably will not work if he's treating you for pink eye when the real problem is dry eye - - and some eye gel for night time. Some meds prescribed for AS (the disease modifiers) may also help clear this up, since I've been on Arava I haven't had many eye problems, and before Arava I was "squirting up" about ten times a day. About four years ago I got conjunctivitis, Had very good insurance then, included eye, went to the eye Dr. and she took one look at the way I hobbled in and Said Marie Strumples disease!!!!! To my shock and amazement an eye Dr. knew what the heck was wrong with me. Needless to say I stayed with her until the insurance changed. Boy on bad eye days I sure miss that Dr. HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER!!! How is Becca's jaw? Rose P.S. Marie Strumples is another name for AS.

My eye doctor told me that an Iritis should be treated as an *emergency*. It sounds like it is most likely pink eye, but I would go to the doctor *today*, and have the pressure in your eye measured to make sure. I get an Iritis about once a year, and I have never had sensativity to light. The first time I got iritis my Dr told me it was pink eye, and sent me away with antibiotics. I don't mean to scare you, well maybe I do, but I would have it checked today.

Hi buckwheat, You have me terrified!! I've been wondering what is wrong with my eyes, especially my left eye. My eyes always feel sore, and get red every day. My left eye bothers me the most. It always seems to be watery, yet it doesn't brim over. Right eye is red and less watery but doesn't bother me as much.I cannot stand alot of light, this makes it worse. It feels like pressure on my left eye. It can really bother me at times, feeling better if I close it. Could this be iritis?? Please Respond...Hope

Hope, Could be. See an opthalmologist ASAP. Diagnosing iritis is easy to do with a slit lamp examination. ******** Kristin TODAY IS NOT A DRESS REHEARSAL!!
