Hi Kirk,
Nice to meet you.I have had really severe hip pain like that but only once or twice.About 25 yrs ago and I remember it like it was yesterday.It hit me when going for a walk with my little girl (about 5 at the time ).We were going to a friend's place (a ten min. walk)Half way there I could'n go on,nor go back.I had to stay put till my wife came looking and took us back home with the car.At that time I was using anti-inflamatory meds but I did not know where all this pain was comming from. The dr. ended up giving me a cortizone shot into the hip joint.My story has a good ending in that I had that hip totaly replaced last May.
I saw in your profile that you are Canadian.I live in Winnipeg . Where are you?

Hi Kirk,
I have had several episodes of severe pain in my left hip in the past and
i found that the only thing that helped to relieve it was a cortisone shot in
the hip.Some of the worst pain i have had from AS has been the Hip.
