If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi everyone. I've been on the NSD for 3 weeks now. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendation for an nsaid Med that has no starch content. I'm open for any opinion. Please respond.

If you must take NSAIDs, go for a COX-2 which has a lower risk on gastric complications.
Celebrex has no starch. Mobic has a starchy filler.

Ibuprofen gel caps have no starch, if you are not looking for a prescription. Try to limit them, though, as they are counter to the diet, which is meant to help our stomachs heal. Voltaren gel is still hard on stomach, but much better than reg nsaids. This is a post I made a while back. It may be helpful: https://www.kickas.org/ubbthreads/ubbthre...5748#Post355748Since that time, I have added some dsmo and msm cream to my epson salt/baking soda concoction (# 4 on list) To add to this list: 6. lymphatic massages have been VERY helpful, in keeping the pain moving and not staying in one place. Now that I am in (MUCH!) less pain, I enjoy the body work much more and have slipped more into traditional massages (these were just 100% painful a year ago) 7. I finally found an acupuncturist I can afford. It is a new movement called "community acupuncture", which tries to make it more do-able, like in China. I get two sessions for less than the price of one. They are focusing on stomach healing, but if my shoulder hurts (my main pain these days), it helps reduce the pain a ton. Find out if there is anyone in your area doing something similar. Also, I gained back the weight I so desperately needed once I started the acupuncture (without eating more). I think it helped me absorb more nutrients in my food. 8. Dry skin brushing and calendula flower baths seem to help a lot, also.

Thanx you guys, Im currently taking ibuprufen tablets with my NSD diet. I don't like the fact that it has starch content. Thanx lite and inkyfingers for your recommendation. I am however planning to eventually weave off the meds when my diet starts to pick up.

Hello, LiteHouse:
If You are so strictly following NSD, You should not require NSAIDs for very long at all and perhaps now would be a better time to pursue more natural things like EFAs, sea cucumber, and spicy ginger tea.
Good luck with the diet and the sooner You ditch the NSAIDs the sooner healing will proceed.
HEALTH, John

Hi John,
It's been a while since I have posted on here, but check in quite often. Hope you all are well.
You mentioned spicy ginger tea. I thought ginger has starch. Are you referring to fresh ginger or dried? Is there a diference in the starch of fresh or dried?

I have found that with no starch pills (vitamins or whatever)
tablets = 90% chance of starch
capsules = 30% chance of starch
Nevertheless, use iodine to test and wait at least 15 min for accurate results.
Yes, and Dragonslayer (the wise one) is right on about EFA's. At first I was taking about 3 grams = better
Then I started on 4-6 grams = even better
Now I get between 6-10 grams a day from pills and fatty fish.
Not only am I feeling better (besides my late hiccup in pain), but my doctors voice cracked when he said, "and your cholesterol is GGGGREEAAATTT!"

I forgot to mention the trusty EFAs! When I recently stopped my nightly dose of 10-15 ml liquid fish oil (cos I ran out and wasn't anywhere near the health food shop at the right time to buy more...) I had significant increase in my pain levels - I have 30 years worth of bony damage to battle as well as inflammation, which is down to low levels, thanks to NSD! I was off it for 10 days, and it fixed my aches in 2 when I got more!
