my mother passed away last year after a painful year battle w/ cancer. she was my best friend and the best mother in the world. she never hurt a soul. she tried never to hurt anyones feelings even if it meant that hers were hurt. she always had time for you and never ever made you feel unimportant. she always tried to see the good in people. she followed the rules and did the right thing. but best of all was the way she loved us.
last night, someone[s] vandalized her grave stone. i would really like to think that this is random but according to the cemetery, to their knowledge, no other stone was bothered. its hard not to think this is personal considering theres more than 20,000 graves there. my family doesnt do things to hurt people. i just am lost and very very hurt as to why anyone would do this. :[

I am SO sorry and I can feel with you on this, my Mom passed to young 6 years ago, still don't think I'm over it probly never will be...but thanks to my Dad she has a beautiful headstone I guess but it is the flat one but I know he put some money out on it.
I go there at times when I am feeling down or feel like I need her and talk or clear the grass away, I can only imagine how I would feel if the same thing happened, we HAVE had things like flowere, angels, pictures of her great grands taken, things stolen and that has ticked me off enough.
It is possible that some kids were in the cemetary and just at the time they decided to do something your Moms headstone just happened to be there, maybe not but it is hard to believe like you said if she was so precious that someone would do that on purpose.
It's bad enough that it happened at all, but if it happens again I would be figuring something out but we can hope this was an isolated incedent..horrible as it was.

so sorry to hear this. i know it must feel very personal and violating, but i suspect it really was an act of random violence, which doesn't make it feel any less violating but hopefully less personal.  it sounds like your mother was a wonderful person. sorry you lost her to cancer.

Hey Sunny What a horrible thing to happen, hon. People do things in a random and thoughtless way all the time. If they stopped to think about how it might impact on someone else or hurt them, they would probably think twice (I hope). It staggers me what some people will do. I know this is completely different, but I heard about someone who stole a neighbours uniforms for work off their washing line ... and then just dumped them. It must have caused a great deal of inconvenience to the person and for no real reason at all. People do things for all sorts of daft reasons like boredom, a dare or just for something to do. I'm so sorry this happened to your lovely Mum's grave stone. I hope the damage can be repaired and it will never happen again

Sunny what an awful thing to happen to your family. Do the authorities have any clues as to who may have done this? I do hope things can be restored to it's original state.
I'm so sorry for you and your family. I don't know what goes through peoples minds to do such a destructful thing.

these morons would probably be forgiven by your mum and pitied perhaps
don't let this make you ill.you have been very unlucky in a mindless random act.forgive them and move on,you will feel all the better for it
