If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Wow! Thank you all for the great advice!
shortly after starting this topic I had a small flare I couldn't justify, but now that I read all this, I figure it was probably onions that I carmelized in my omellete or vinegar. I think the elimination diet is in order! and better iodine testing.
Also, should I be using colorless iodine? I've been trying to use the reddish stuff that turns brownish or blackish, but if it started out clear and turned black that would be loads easier.
I just remembered something else I was wondering! What supplements/vitamins would you recommend? I'm afraid of the starch contents of pills, and it would be a shame to give up so much good food and still feed the kleb with supplement pills.
@Tink: I think scubasteve was mentioned in the movie big daddy, but I just picked the name because I like SCUBA diving. Only thing funner than catching big fish from a boat is swimming with em underwater!
Once again, thanks a lot! You guys are life savers!

Oh yeah! I remember now the film with Adam Sandler, right? I would never have got that in a million years... I got stuck on Finding Nemo and ran out of ideas! lol
Wow the scubadiving sounds amazing! Have you been to any exotic locations? Sorry, I'm going a bit off topic here...
Back on topic, I've never heard of the clear iodine, they only do the yellowy stuff here and you have to get a prescription and order it from the chemist to make up especially for you! Like it's some sort of highly illusive toxic chemical or something! I find the results with it, pretty clear however.
KickAS and help others do the same!

Also, should I be using colorless iodine? I've been trying to use the reddish stuff that turns brownish or blackish No the colourless stuff doesn't work so you are using the right stuff already What supplements/vitamins would you recommend? I'm afraid of the starch contents of pills, and it would be a shame to give up so much good food and still feed the kleb with supplement pills. It can be tricky to find non-starchy pills. Often capsules are safer. Not sure on the brands you get over there but here in NZ I use Thompsons as their tablets pass the iodine test. I wouldn't advise going too nutty on too many supplements esp at this early stage. A multi-vitamin probably isn't worth your while as they contain such small amounts of each vitamin & mineral and often cancel each other out eg putting iron and calcium together in the same pill. My hubby takes a high potency B & C complex and a Calcium Magnesium & Boron complex and that is all. All the best

Hi.
Go hard and go early. Hit the iodine, hit the NSD and hit the AS.
Use the search facility on this site and research everything!!! I have spent literally hours looking at other threads. It has been invaluable. Keep asking questions and give yourself say 12 months as a trial period. If its not working after this period of time maybe think again...or give it another 12 months.
Good luck.

haha I love how fast people respond to posts on this forum! Tink: It is fun I highly recommend it! I haven't been diving anywhere warm or salty yet. I live in Michigan, USA, so I'm surrounded by the Great Lakes and countless other little lakes filled with shipwrecks and fish. I'm definitely planning to go somewhere exotic though! Kiwi and Sunnypower: Thanks for the info. I'm not taking anything right now (other than sulfasalazine and omega 3 capsules), so I think I'll just stay away from vits and supps for the time being. Keith: thanks for the advice. I plan on being as strict as possible with this (at least until I gain my mobility back, then I might have to cheat a little ) scubasteve

Hi and welcome Steve! Sorry I had to bump into you here and not in the Blue Beyond as your dive buddy in some unspoilt tropical location - yep, I am/was a scuba diver! Where I live we have southern ocean currents, so I'm a semi-drysuit kinda girl, as no doubt you are in Lake Michigan - if not a full-on drysuit guy! The best diving I have ever done is on the WWII wrecks in the Pacific - the best being the SS President Coolidge in Vanuatu - awesome beyond belief!!! Oh, and the shark feed dive - where I was like the proverbial German tourist (apologies to any Germans reading this!) - "sharks not big enough, not enough sharks circling - only 30-40 - dive too short" - it was such a privilege to be in the water with these amazing creatures up close seeing them doing what they are here to do - predate lesser organisms!) I would rather being be hanging with the fishies anyday... WRT the NSD - *what they said* - keep it strict, test, test and test with your trusty iodine bottle until you are flying solo, and ask here if you need guidance.

nice to meet ya! I've always wanted to swim with sharks. The most impressive/dangerous fish i've swam with so far were ~3 ft northern pike. Hopefully soon I'll get out to the great blue wet thing and get my feet wet I've never used a dry/semidry. Most everybody up here uses 7mm wetsuits and i know some people who wear 2 7mm at once! Thanks for the advice. I'll keep finetuning the diet, and hopefully I'll be able to report back with some great news in a few months! scubasteve

Hey ScubaSteve,
Is this title from movie "Big Daddy" or do you actually like scuba and have the name Steve?
Regarding questions 1- If have mechanical damage already... this ROM can not be improved
2 - Green beans are starchy... some have issue with onions due to FOS (this is substance that bacteria sometimes feed on). I do not have issues with onions personally, but know of others that have posted here that do. I limit vinegar as too much can cause me problems with candidas.
