"Okay" is the most relative variable in the Universe. I've always found I hurt much more the day after, and today is no exception.
Bonnie says it sounded like dropping a watermelon on asphalt. At least it didn't sound hollow or empty.
It might be my day to hit the lottery, who knows?

Don't laugh...a friend and I replaced the original motor and controller with an 850 watt motor (ugh, ugh, more...POWER!) and I can go about 20 MPH.
I can hear the voice of the late, great Dave Diamond now: "Saturday! Top fuel mobility scooters shake the ground with a thundering 850 watts of blazing power! Don't...miss...it!"
I tend to always push the envelope on everything I do so I know the parameters. Lesson learned here? Stick to gentle forward inclines.

Motor got a most splendid sendoff. We laid him down in the tall buffalo grasses of the Pawnee National Grasslands, did brief eulogies, my youngest son piped "Abide With Me", and I said the Mourner's Kiddush.
They wouldn't let me bury him with honors at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. I would have. He deserved it.
I consulted with a friend in the program who is a Cheyenne medicine man (the real deal, not some New Age wannabe) before we laid Motor to rest. He okayed it and came along.
Now, I know full well that the birds of the air and the beasts of the field will consume the remains, and that is as it should be. The keyword is "remains".
I've twice experienced what Medicine cynically calls a "near death experience". Near? Nonsense. I was dead. A doornail. So I KNOW-- I don't "believe"-- that the essence/spirit/soul that is Motor is not in those remains. I'll see him again.

I am so sorry you had to lose your beloved cat. I know how it feels to lose a buddy. We have a little graveyard in my flowerbed that we have buried our little furry children in over the years. I do believe that we are reunited with all of our pets when we get to Heaven.

It was for the whole family, really. Motor was my cat, but we were all quite fond of him.
My eldest son blays trumpet, and I tried to talk him into "Taps".
"Dude--we all loved him. But he's a kitty cat, not a fallen soldier."
It was good enough.
