I had two reasons to know the answer:

1) I went to school in Penzance
2) I directed the musical Pirates of Penzance for our local musical theatre company.

So Dow wasn't really in with a chance. I think I should get 100 points.

Not even a dishonourable mention for my Pair Of Docs? tongue2

I even went back later and changed my answer to include Dr. House because that show stars that other talented Englishman, Hugh Laurie, figuring I might score higher with the Judge that way doh

So cool that Wendy directed that show, if only YouTube was around back in 1836... laugh2

Pirates of Penzance actually was the show that was responsible for me meeting Marsha!!!

perhaps I should explain..

When it ran on Broadway, first with Linda Rondstadt and Rex Smith...

(I actually did go to see it, right when I was a big fan of hers)

they were replaced by Robby Benson, and Karla Devito

where they met for the first time, fell in love, and were soon married.

Robby wrote a funny true-ish script about their romance, and the birth of their first child, Lyric.

He went to teach at the University Of South Carolina, and decided to make the film. He hired me to be the film editor, and when I came down to Columbia, that's where I met Marsha, who was also teaching there!

(now both Robby & Marsha teach at NYU, and Lyric is all growed up!)

My favourite roles for Hugh Laurie were Wooster in Jeeves and Wooster and his various roles in Black Adder. Laurie and Fry are two of my favourite comedic actors.

Hi,
It sounds like you are having a great time here at the forum. I'm thinking the pity party feeling effects a few of us here, including me too. It comes and goes once in a while. keeping myself occupied with cheerful things (comedy, sitcoms, music, youtube) usually helps me. youtube can be outright funny sometimes.

Nice to see you, Trace
Take care,
James
