Giving up my coffee is almost a fate worse then death. There's no reason to give it up. Have a good MRI.

Yeah, right it seems sometimes when they make all that fuss supposedly to make us relax it has the opposite effect!

Remembering the time I had an MRI and before it began the technician asked me if I wanted to listen to music in the headphones, and if so, what kind. I took this as a very important question, I didn't want to be listening to opera for like an hour!

So the choices were like classical, rock, country, folk, light rock, etc

I veered between classical and rock, thinking if it was a big classical symphony, that could keep me interested, but rock, something like some classic Led Zeppelin might do a better job of masking out the MRI machine clanks.

So finally decided on rock.

Then as it began, I heard in the headphones, in the left channel only, must have been a flakey headphone connection, the beginning of some James Taylor lite FM song, and I thought: "THIS is their idea of rock?"

But it didn't matter, because a few seconds later, even that channel sputtered out, and I was left with NO music, just the machine clanks for the whole duration...

So hope, for starters, that you have better musical luck than I did! yes

The MRI went fine. Cindy was right about the helmet and the IV. Oh big deal another needle in my arm, wont be the last time that happens. It pretty much went as planned except for my nose itching and not being able to scratch it, I hate that.

I got the call in the late afternoon. I always figure if the conversation doesn't start with "we gotta get you in here", what ever follows I can handle. He tells me I have a small tumor on my brain, but it is nothing to worry about, just has to be checked every 6 months to make sure it hasn't grown. The tumor is benign. Anyway, nothing that I am worried about, could be worse, I guess.
Still don't know why I have the headaches but he will get back to me. The headache never seems to go away completley. I am starting to think I am imagining it just like it was for the AS pain...just doubting myself at times. What a mess I am laugh

Thanks to everyone here. Man Hug to everyone!!! blush The last part of the Man Hug is, not to linger in the hug zone. Linger too long and you will be penalized. mad

glad to hear the MRI wasn't too bad except for that itchy nose! i hate that too! LOL!

as for that tumor, glad it is benign, that's a relief. hopefully it will stay small. let us know.

as for the headaches, i was thinking about this a little more. it might help if you can put everything on a timeline. like when did the headaches start in relationship to when various other symptoms started, like AS symptoms or fibro symptoms, or in relationship to you starting certain medications. it can be hard to go back in time like this.

its one reason i always start a symptom diary when i start a new drug. its the only way i was able to tell that some of my more insidious onset of side effects were due to specific drugs (like the statin induced edema or the lyrica induced migraines).

but knowing when symptoms start in relationship to other things can help tease things apart sometimes. like for me, i've been getting migraines since i was 8 years old. thus i know that the problems i started having at 35 aren't the reasons for my migraines. and my migraines aren't a clue to my disease.

anyway, maybe this idea will be helpful, but if not, i'll keep my thinking cap on.

Jeffery glad the MRI went okay for you. If your doc doesn't think the headaches are comming from tumor, then what about your neck? Do you have problems with your C-spine? I had daily migraines for 10 years. The docs determined mine was comming from the damage in my neck. Went to PT for 3 months and it really helped. Might this be something to consider?
