I'm often at work which can be fun because my co-workers almost always organize a cake and make a fuss of everyone's birthday. If it's at the weekend then grandbabies visit. There's usually visits or phone calls from my brothers. Last year, one of them had just set off on a long sailboat trip (he's currently in the Azores having crossed the Atlantic from Bermuda just a few days ago). He was on his way south along the pacific coast last September and phoned me from their sat phone. That was a highlight of my day that I remember.

My mom always visits and she had made me the most stunning beautiful handmade quilt because she knew I was in pain and wanted me to have something to cuddle up in. She makes amazing quilts.

My husband was in England - his mom had just died - so we just talked on the phone. We were both still sad about losing her. I remember we had a really good talk.

So that was my day as I remember it. Hope yours is equally good and you manage to avoid long needles.

Wendy,
I am feeling a tad better.
I just wish he would have aspirated some of the bulging disk when he was in there. .
May I ask, what does your hubby do?
It is always fun to hear about other people's traditions..

Michelle,
Hi! No I think you have enough on your mind.
I think about you and your situation down there.
I sure hope that you are supported and the oil is clesned up.
So sad. Most of our church / city, are oil / gas / coal miners.
SO we hope energy needs continue, but with proper planning and responsibility....

We all send our love to you and Mike,
Lon
