If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Sometimes it feels like trying to survive in a thick, dense jungle. I know you'll get there. No matter how hard it is, if you want something, you'll get it.

How about trying Low Dose Naltrexone? http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org/Apparently can do wonders for the gut....see the little article about halfway down the page about LDN's effect on Crohns. Jon has been taking this for several months now. It's no miracle drug for him (like it is for many others) but he has seen improvement in his AS. It seems to allow him to bounce back from flares quicker. Eg, a cheat or mistake on the diet used to result in his ankle swelling and taking about 1-2 weeks to calm down. Now with LDN he seems to bounce back withing 2-3 days. With it's specific gut healing benefits maybe it will be the thing for you to try.

I know LDN. I've been talking with Sue in this forum recently and i have some articles i will show my gastro when i'll see her. They talk more about CD, not about UC, but we'll see.

UC is listed on the site as one of the conditions that LDN is effective for along with Crohns, IBS and of course a whole host of autoimmune conditions (which personally I suspect all stem from the gut).
So I would expect it to be very helpful in UC and I'd highly recommend it. I doubt that diet alone is going to kick your UC and AS to be honest. And LDN appears to be pretty harmless compared to taking steriods or some of the more toxic meds so I'd say you have nothing to lose. It's also very cheap in comparison to a lot of meds. If it was me I'd be trying my hardest to get on it as soon as possible.
All the best.

I sympathize with you Alinus. I too have had gut inflammation for so many years. It also at times doesnt APPEAR to be related to my AS but I think the connection is valid. I'm sure being allergic to wheat all these years and eating it has left my gut a mess.
This NSD has been awsome for my gut. I have eaten dairy lately and my gut tolerates it fine but I dont think my AS does.
I am preparing for my LDA therapy and I have taken Cipro and Nystatin for a week. I have noticed no difference taking the antibiotic but mabe it's too early.
My advice to you is too continue to be your own doctor. What works for others may not work for you. And remember sometimes reactions are delayed and sometimes immediate. The diet is valid but my feeling is more then diet is required to beat AS.
