wendy,
I am watching this close, as what Donette is saying.
I just can't believe she said there was nothing she could do.....
She admitted that she saw x-rays where it looked as though the person would be bed ridden, yet they could run. And mine show DISH, RA, etc. but nothing she could do..

Wendy, I hope that you are feeling better.
How is work?
I am coming down off extra cymbalta, I think that will help me a bit.
Your friend,
Lon

Be careful while you taper off this med if you've taken it for very long. It can give you a lot of weird feelings. Have the doc give you the lowest mg strength when you start tapering off, makes it a lot easier since you can't open the capsules to split the dose.

Rumble,
I think I will stay at 60...
Yea, the combination of more of this, muscle relaxers and pain patch, I was quite miserable...
Thanks for the warning, but I was just reducing the volume....

I do appreciate the info.

Okay...maybe I misunderstood you. Probably shouldn't try to comprehend stuff after midnight. Glad your cymbalta works for you.

I liked the effect it had on the chronic pain, but it only worked for 2-3 months, then it quit. Now I'm on gabapentin and it seems to be working....well, maybe it's the higher dose of MTX, or the warmer weather, or the Vitamin D, or the phase of the moon or the extra M&Ms each night at dinner. Hugs to you.

Hi Lon,

physically, I think I've been feeling a bit better. Maybe there is a chance that mtx is working. I'm going to try reducing my pred again next week to see if maybe mtx is working well enough that I could finally get off the pred.

I'm feeling a bit fed up in a number of other ways though, which is why I haven't been posting very much. Feeling a bit disallusioned at the moment.

Plus, I think this high dose of mtx is making my hair fall out - it's getting very thin. So the pred is making me gain weight and the mtx is making my hair fall out - not a pretty picture.

On the positive side, I'm able to walk daily again - probably close to 2 km per day - so I've stopped using my disabled tag, which feels good.

Hmmm...hair falling out? I've noticed more of that lately. I attributed it to the fact that I am growing it longer, thus more of it breaks off, and clogs the brush. Since I have really thick hair, I've not noticed it thinning, yet. Hope it's just a passing thing for you, Wendy. frown1

Wendy,
I join Rumble is saying, I hope this passes. But as we have seen, you know your body and it may be itme to question???
Sometimes I can walk 4 miles, then again I can hardly make it out the office door tot he truck.. So pace yourself, please. My legs get so stiff and heavy, it is like they are nto part of me. I can't temember when I felt good walking. After my hunting trips last winter I guess.
Wendy, all of us express agape' to us because you are such a good friend. We will take you any way, but I am sure your hubby is still very much attracted to you when he sees you!!!

I have missed your posts. We all need a break.
I hope to get some sun this afternoon, cone on over - tea time.

My hair started to thin and fall out last summer - I would have been about 6 months on mtx at that point -I stopped taking it in April this year, and my hair has immediately started to thicken up again.

I also put on weight and the two combined can be very depressing, I know.

Good to see that you are holding on to the positives.

Hugs
