Possi, I'm going off of it because I could tell my body was becoming dependent (when you get the chills and the shakes and sweats when you've gone 8 hours without a pill) and I absolutely DESPISE that and I'm not sure I'll have a supply of Percs in the future since I fired the rheumy, and probably the biggest reason is I can't be on percs and LDN at the same time so I've been LDN-less for weeks now. I think today I'm past most of the ugliness, but dang it was a loooooooooong week . . .
For my long-term meds I'm gonna try to stick to LDN but it looks like I'll be needing these muscle relaxants for a while, and doc tripled my Neurontin, which seems to be helping quite a bit. I just can't take LDN with a perc regimen, and I hate, hate HATE the thought/reality of being dependent on a med like that. Though it's true I haven't been able to do the dishes without a good dose of percs and muscle relaxants for a couple months now . . . don't know how I'm gonna manage that now. Wow I'm pathetic. Can't do the dishes without controlled substances. go me.

it's early but I'm gonna go snuggle my hubby. we got a memory foam topper for our bed today - super yay! hooray for tax refunds! we definitely need the rest after the shopping. XP

Molly, any time you choose, just let me know - I wasn't sure if you'd switched emails or something.

hugs all,
hrtballon

Hey Bridge,
I happy for you!! I'd keep this guy too. I am lucky that my rhueumy is a DO. So he is not big on the narcotic pain relievers. I know what you mean about the injections, been there done that, I hate em too, but it they can break your flare, and unfortunately 'roids are the med to break em. I'm sure Bailey would love to climb on mom, and I bet there is an ol horse around there somewhere looking for that wacky cowgirl to go for a ride. Good Luck!! Keep us posted.

Bridge, WOW the right doc makes all the differenc. My GP and Orthopedic surgeon are both DOs. I'm so sorry to hear the struggles with the Percocet. I sure hope they have something in mind to help you as it is all about quality of life. When my doc takes me off of one he starts the replacement med at the same time so they over lap and I don't deal with the withdrawl. By the way, what a beautiful babe. I can't imagine not being able to pick her up and hold her. My thoughts and prayers are with you sweetie.

Bridge

Hope you are feeling a little better by the time you read this post.

It is great news that you found a doctor who cares about your long term health and well being. you must feel vindicated that your doctor had the same thoughts about your rhuemy as you did. Hoping his firing meant more coming from one of his peers than hearing it from you. Your old rhuemy might have blown it off as having to deal with a difficult, emotional person. I hope the exchange with your doctor will cause him to reflect and change. Unfortantly he is probably too arrogant.

I have survived the breakup with Percocet! clap
and now all 3 of us have a rotten headcold. smirk2 flippin yay.

Going without my LDN for so long, I guess my immune system is sorta back to normal, and then with all the crap my body's been going through, I'm not surprised that it succumbed to the germs. But I took my LDN last night, for the first time in weeks smile so here's hoping it'll do its miraculous thing with me again and get me out of this flare!

hugs!

I'm so sorry for what you are going through, esp with a toddler that you must want to play with. My husband's LDN has become less effective lately so- we are on an anti- candida diet just incase the other meds (prednisone etc) have caused this.

To kill the candida we are both eating lots of raw garlic and probiotics and no sugary foods. I'm not sure if it's helping yet as it is only day 3. I'm also doing the same- as it is only fair when it is my idea. My husband is fearful of what I will come up with next. Maybe a glass of urine?(the candida diet website did suggest this) If i mentioned that then I know my husband would ask if he could kill me and I dont even have AS.

Seriously I hope and pray that you feel better soon.

Oh sweetie, I'm so glad your DO is completely behind you!

I had to ween my sweetie off percocet after only 3 days on, his reaction was that bad. I'm so sorry you're having to go through all of this. hugss

Warm hugs,

Kat
