If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Apologies Chris, clumsy wording on my part. To put it another way (as if it will sound any better) I thankfully have come through AS, I am on the other side, where things aren't quite so bad. I hope to greet you here very soon.
I presume that, (as a result of your comment in shout-'I must prepare for the festivities to come', or something like that) as I type, you now, are a staggering fall down drunk; flat in bed with poorly head from the celebrations of last evening, or indeed are out jogging!!!

Jimy, apologies, I seem to have hi-jacked your thread with silly nonsense, most unlike me, I am sorry.

I agree with Chris!
I often think how lucky I've been to get AS now, and not before the biologics and all the other stuff that we have today.
You guys did it the hard way!

I've just read through it all, and it has been extremely informative and (at times) entertaining!
So THANKYOU!

I admit to having a sense of tumbling downhill - but that was even before I had the complete diagnosis. I remember telling my roommate at the time, "There's something really not right - I'm just SO tired."
5 years later, I'm still struggling along. I've been subconsciously optimistic that a cure will come along or I'll mysteriously get better. My grandmother had some form of RA, and her symptoms changed over time (TMJ, Poly R, spondy, colitis, etc.). At least she had different problems at different periods of her life.
I do have to constantly battle getting down. Last night, it was hard watching all my friends smooching on their fiances/spouses...talking about pregnancies, etc. In the back of my head, I hear a voice say, "That life is gone for you." It feels like a kind of death. I have to force myself to rethink what life is really about. My goal this year is to smash up my concept of what I think is a happy life. Step out of the rubble, and enjoy a wider kind of freedom that many healthy people never approach.

I was twelve so I figured I 'd wake up tomorrow and it'd be gone. 3 months and a lot of pills later it wasn't
I remember ever so vaguely relaing it to of all things a kid cartoon since ...well... I was a kid. The cartoon was Underdog. He has a sword stuck in his underdog outfit 9too many ez off color jokes possible so I will pass) and somehow he didn't notice so it hurt him every time he bent and stepped but mainly it sapped his power. He spoke like an old dog. So I guess I thought I was an old dog.

Don't tell on me Snowshoe, I keep thinking I may go back to him some day.
I am thinking about going skiing tomorrow, at Snowbird. Not sure yet if I will make it, but I got a couple of passes to Snowbird for Christmas.

My goal this year is to smash up my concept of what I think is a happy life. Step out of the rubble, and enjoy a wider kind of freedom that many healthy people never approach. Those are some motivating words right there.... thanks for sharing this. My downhill slide started with a sore knee, and I remember feeling completely freaked out the day after I'd skipped a NSAID when I felt 100yrs old and discovered that my entire body ached. Diagnosis... I had figured out by then that I had some kind of arthritis, but I still felt as though my world had collapsed. Knowing that there was really something wrong allowed me to be a bit kinder to myself and made me focus on what was really important. But I was also scared at what the future might hold...
