If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Saturday
celery,chicken,ham,salad,2 gum drops
Sunday
I was in so much pain (shoulders to fingertips) that I foolishly thought "why bother" with more nsd and so I ate 1/2 potato and 2 bohemoth dinner rolls
I woke up keenly punished for my mistake. Now my jaw, hips, feet are painful/stiff.
I'm typing w/ one finger and fasting on water alone. I simply MUST get my hands back.......it's christmas for pete's sake!! There are presents to wrap!
btw, the pain in my hands/wrists literally puts me into a shocklike state, shaking, gasping, crying. And the hydrocodone and tramadol aren't touching it!

Aw, Donette, I feel for you! Was it the gum drops? Seems like a homeopathic dose of thickener in 2 gum drops, but if only we had a flashing light on our foreheads to tell us what we did wrong, huh? I have had a low grade sore gut and intermittent vague nausea this past week, and yesterday it was tight! What has done this? A virus? Something I ate? Is it transverse colitis that I have had in the past (but with way more pain!!!) - and a cause for which was never found! Where is the instruction manual??? I hope your joints are feeling better soon. Don't give up on the NSD - see this as a hiccup in the long term scheme of things. Some days it's hard to see the woods for the trees, but aren't you better *overall* since trying the NSD? It's hard to see the Big Picture when you're in a rough patch... to you,
Louise Happy to be a physio by day, not happy to be a Spondy 24/7!

Hey inky, thx for the kind words! It could have been the gumdrops. It was seeming like the klebs just really had a powerful hold in me, plus the lovely cold weather, I think I am just the case that needed a fast to break the kleb's hold. I was pretty bad off all week/weekend. I am better overall since nsd. Its more localized in the arms/hands and not everywhere whilly nilly. Now I'm 20 hours into my fast and starting to feel better. My jaw, feet and hips are back to normal and my right hand is feeling better. Not 100% but enough result to keep going on the fast. The random shooting wrist pains even while resting have seemed to abate for now. Right now I just want to see if I can get a decent night's sleep and then I'll decide how many more hours to fast. By morning it will have been 34 hours, water and a few vitamins only. I think of John fasting 24 days and I want to cry tears of blood for him. I nearly wretched making my family dinner tonight. Oh the smells. 24 days. He deserves a trophy.

Hey Ankyspon, What is chicken popcorn? Sun dried tomato sauce sounds delicious. Did you iodine test it? Breakfast today: orange juice almonds pepitas craisins lunch: spicy chicarones sobe vitamin water dinner: sweet pork taco, salsa, avocado with a large lettuce leaf instead of tortilla. Snack:dark chocolate Since my 36 hour fast, I don't "need" as much food. I also appreciate flavors more and don't find myself eating without thinking. My doc is letting me try a run of antibiotics! I also got a different script for methadone instead of hydrocodone. The methadone is supposed to last longer so I can get some sleep. Things are looking up.

Wow Donnette,
Congrats for that successful 36 hour fast.... I will be attemptng another one this saturday....
I did not check the ingredients on sun dried tomato sauce or the chicken popcorn (from KFC). I remember carol sinclair mentioning in her book that KFC chicken is safe to have. I guess I am following more of a LSD than NSD. I am not consuming starch in huge amounts.
My last saturday apple fast did help me but I felt a rage of hunger later and did eat some tough food to start with, which is not such a good thing.... I will try to be sober this saturday.
All the best to you.

its just a side dish added to all my meals. i use one green cabbage and one red cabbage when making it, so it turns out a pretty pink color, and looks nice on any plate.
the taste has grown on me, and if i don't have it, it feels like something is missing. but i can remember at first, thinking how horrible it was, and how horrible my life was that i was reduced to eating it at every meal, basicly ruining every meal.
it goes well with all kinds of meat, fish and eggs, treat it like a salsa or pickle condiment, add to lettuce wrap sandwiches, etc.
with my breakfast, i like to mix it all together, my swiss chard, runny eggs and sauerkraut. its really good.
