Well, rheumy said to take the augmentin, but stop mtx while doing so. No mtx for 2 weeks. Bummer. Guess that means the pains that went away will come back now. It's either that or get sicker with infection.

Lon, I didn't get headache from mtx, it's from sinusitis. Amazingly, I don't seem to have a problem with mtx and it seems to be working. Hope your breathing is better soon. Your nose looks fine. rainbow

I just want to say, I want you well.
You are in my prayers,I hope something works soon. The siniutis really is not fun. I use mild salt and nose drops - seems to work in the long run as good as the big guns...

The funny thing is, I had no side effects from mtx for weeks and weeks and only now have the tiredness thing, after coming off the opioids. If it's a side effect of the mtx then the opioids must have been masking it. It feels almost as though my body has got into a pattern of wanting to nap after lunch every day! It doesn't feel as though the mtx is the problem, partly because it doesn't get worse in the couple of days after taking the mtx dose.

Maybe the tiredness is just the normal flux of the disease? Or maybe you have something else going on?

That's what I was assuming in the run up to this infection....just tired because of the disease process and/or the mtx. But then the chills and hot flashes...thought that was hormonal or the mtx. Then more tiredness and congestion. It took me nearly 2 weeks to decide I was really sick. Ordinarily I would have been sure in a couple of days since I have a lot of sinus infections.

Hope you feel better soon. Hugs to you, Wendy.

Thanks Rumble. I get a lot of sinus infections as well and this may be partly what's going on now. I'm reluctant to take antibiotics unless it gets worse. But maybe I'll have to. What antibiotics did you get in the end?

Wendy, Rumble - Try Colloidal Silver. CS is a great bug killer, so if you try swabbing out nasal passages (use a Q-tip) and spraying back of throat you may find that you don't have to take antibiotics?

Can't do any harm, and just 'may' help.

Where can I get colloidal silver - a regular pharmacy? (Chemist?)

Colloidal Silver? Yes, should be able to get from regular pharmacy (chemist) or health outlet. Boots sell it over here and also health outlets. Can also purchase on-line - Mercola sells it as well...an you can phone in an order. Comes next day delivery (all being well that is!)

I too was napping every day in the early afternoon while on Meth. But did not get the connection. I was taking some mild pain meds--alazraphram and then lyrica....

Thanks Lon. I will certainly have attacks of tiredness today because I didn't get to sleep until 3am last night. Horrible attack of insomnia. Feel terrible this morning - don't know how I'll cope at work.
