If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

My hubby and I see the same rheumie and we sign a narcotic contract. We only get our meds from him. We have drug urine tests done every so often. I think it is a good thing. He can tell if you are taking the drugs he prescribes and also if you are taking any others that he didn't prescribe. If you break the contract in any way, you are no longer his patient. Blessings. Check out this thread. Granny Storm Crow is from Canada and has an extensive list talking about the medical benefits of MJ. Very interesting stuff!
I was in a lot of pain a couple years ago and someone gave me enough pot to make three or four joints. Man I tell yat, that stuff killed the pain 110%! Vicodin only takes an 8 down to a 5, pot took that 8 right down to a 0 and made me happier to boot!
If I had safe access to it I'd do it instead of the drugs the drs give me. I'm on 5mg of vicodin and the dr won't give me any more. I only need it once a day maximum, but I seem to need a higher amount now and I've been trying to get him to give me one 7mg a day as needed, he won't. :-(
I've been writing our local reps, state reps and fed reps asking them to think about voting yes to pass the medical marijuana bills in our state. Our house has voted yes three years in a row and the darn senate won't even bring it to a vote! They have decriminalized it so anything less then 24 grams is a "traffic violation" and a $100 fine.
As for ways of taking it, I've got a recipe for a tincture that a guy gave me that's for his wife who has really bad osteoarthritis. She takes a spray of two of it when needed and never needs to smoke it. She's off all her other medications and feels great! It's also a small amount of pot (but a decent amount of THC I think) as it never makes her "high" she only gets the anti-inflammatory effects from it, nothing else!
PM me if you want the recipe. I waiting until it's legal here to try it as I can't afford to get caught, even if it is just a slap on the wrist. I need it to be legal so I can gain access to it, I've never bought it from anyone and I'm too scared to at this point.

Hey Texan,
Congrats and congrats on graduating with the demon AS trying to stop you. I can't say enough about you young folk who can get through today's high impact learning with AS as your roommate.
As to the narcotic contract, my GP said I had to sign one to get the vicodin that I've been on for 3 years. The fact is, without it, I could not walk. So, if I'm going to work, I'm going to take vicodin. I've gone though a lot with this GP, for about 15 years, and I told him if he didn't trust me enough to prescribe vicodin without a contract, then I didn't see how I could trust him either. I also told him that the contract is a CYA document if ever there was one. He agreed. Finally we came to an agreement that we would both sign an agreement saying I would only use the drugs he prescribes, and he (or his colleagues that may be filling in for him) would not hesitate to prescribe the drugs I need to function. I'm still not happy with it, but I don't take urine tests, and I know I'll have what I need, unlike when he was on vacation a couple of months ago, and no one would prescribe the vicodin for me.
As to the MJ, there are so many conflicting stories about that out there that I don't know what to believe. And, there are so many people adding so much garbage to the MJ, that I'm not convinced that it's a good idea. At least in Massachusetts. It's decriminalized here so possession is only a ticket, like a traffic ticket. Nevertheless, I'm not at all sure about the purity of anything sold on the street. Are you?
Anyway, that's my story, and I'm stickin to it. Again, congrats on your graduation. You make us all proud.
Dean

Texan, Congrads on everything. It sounds like you are really doing great! I am a believer in the MJ I have never smoked in my life not even Cigs but after a bad accident which amoung many injuries my kidneys were so swollen I couldn't hardly urinate and several dislocated ribs a friend managed to get what I would guess to amount to one inhale down me. I was totally pain free and simply put discovered my kidneys still could work. It put all the pain meds and lasix I had been on to shame. I however have not continued to use it for medical purposes for many reasons but I know first hand it really does work.

I have never tried MJ. I hate having to use the narcotics but it is the only thing that keeps me going. I just have no problem with the dr's contract. All of his patients have to sign it if they want to be his patient. My Pain Management Dr. does not give me any pills; just procedures. I don't know enough about the MJ to know if I would try it or not. I won't as long as it's not legal.

gday guys, gday megan I tried a 'medicinal' type and it made me feel weak & tired. can someone explain the 'contract' to me please - what are the 'rules' etc & its purpose? Liability protection for the doctor? Interesting, Ive never heard of it & as I said in my previous post, I told mine straight away because it works for me, simple. In no way did I suggest he tell his patients to try it MJ, pot, hash whatever - it has this stigma attached that will never go away. Pain is my biggest issue (duh lol) and it relieves it better than anything. Havin UC as well means some/most painkillers are out anyway. Do what works for you I say

Hi Texan,
I take oxycontin and my doctor doesn't require any contracts. I do feel like I've established some trust with him though. For instance, he didn't have a problem that I was taking Vicodin prescribed by a different doc for breakthrough. He doesn't seem to like breakthrough meds, but some days the oxy just doesn't cut it for me.
I've never tried MJ so that hasn't been an issue for me. I wish I lived in a medical marajuana state and could see if it helped since oxy just seems to dull the pain some.
