Facebook is very dangerous

Example: Yesterday there was a thread on it, just some silly stuff about people talking about "April Showers Bringing June Flowers", every one was posting different versions of that phrase. (Marsha posted "Mayflowers bring Pilgrims"..")

I was out driving the dogs to the Starbucks where I walk them, and pulled over to fill the car with gas, when I thought of a funny one, and while I was filling the car, I realized I could use my iPhone, to enter my phrase. So my mind was not on what I was doing. I quickly got in the car, and made my entry, and drove off. About half a mile from the gas station, I heard this sound, sorta like something falling...

When I got to the Starbucks, I realized my wallet was missing! Then I figured it out, I must have left my wallet on top of the car, and driven off, without realizing

So I drove back, parked the car in the station, and walked along the busy road, retracing where I had driven, hoping against all hope that no one else had seen it and grabbed it, or that I'd get hit by a car. Sure enough, thankfully I saw it lying there in the road, and I ran out into the street, and grabbed the wallet, and lived to tell this tale!!

So just a warning...

Thank God I don't have an iPhone.

And I am not a multitasker. Anything I do on Facebook will be on my computer at home.

Of all my friends there, eight of them are family members. Just trying to keep up with what others are doing. And have some fun.

Glad you were able to retrive your wallet.

Doreen

Im glad that you found it and you weren't hurt...

My husband has an I phone and he does do all of his stuff on it from banking to facebook.

Me personally, I won't do that if I can't do it on the computer then I will do it when I get back there is nothing THAT importent to me.

Thanks, Doreen & Lisa!

I'm really just kidding, I don't think it was the iPhone's fault, it was all mine

I can see how much fun it can be and so addicting. At first I thought, how silly, so many people posting about things like "which character from the Brady Bunch are you?", or what their favorite petunia is, and then they might say something that you DO care about, and you're off and running, and before you know it, you're in a Facebook 12 step program

What I do think is really great is how people from your past find you. An old roomate who I'd tried to get in touch with several times found me today, so I am excited about getting back in touch with him, as have a couple of relatives who are normally pretty shy

But I think I will always not like it compared to here, where the forums are more organized, and there is no advertising which just tries to get you to post more and more little messages, but then starts hiding the messages when the threads start to grow. Here it is just as easy to go read what someone posted in 2002 as it is to read what someone said at 2 PM!

That sounds like something I would do! Maybe that's why I don't have an iPhone. So does that make facebook dangerous, or iPhones dangerous?

Oh well out here in PoDunk it doesn't matter much, we still just roll down the window and give a wave or a holler. I figure more than half the people around here would have something to do with a pair of glasses with a phone in them.

Oh by the way email for facebook is chris.s@fdcalsandgrafix.com
