Tamara, I'm so sorry, I can't imagine having to work a job that I didn't like, not to say that I've never had to do, it's been so long ago now though that I don't think I could ever go back to that...but if you ever find yourself down this way, you can run the tides with me....

Michelle, all the best to you, and your shrimp business. I would love to be sitting there as you catch them. (heck I don't even like being on water) I would make short order of eating them. Just love shrimp (nicely fried in butter) - fresh - without preservatives (of course no garlic) - yummy.

Hugs

Wow!!

You just jolted me back many moons ago, in fact more moons than I would like to confess to. My family too were water people. My grandfather and Uncles owned their own Boats and went out daily for their catch. I had to go along to learn the trade and even though I liked being on the water I found the work to be very hard. During summer vacation from school I had a small skiff that I put a small putt- putt on the back and everyday I would go out clamming. This too was hard work but the money I earned was My own. I slept on my skiff many evenings catching the cool sea breezes and just gazing at the stars. I was in the resturaunt business for a while and always bought my shrimp right off the boats as they docked. I was able to buy 26-30 Greys for $5.00 a lb with the heads on. These Shrimp were so sweete that on occasion I would eat them raw... Naturally They were Gulf Shrimp. Today I still go down to the docks ( 5 miles away) on occasion and wait for the shrimpers to come in,,, They all know me and even though I do not buy Shrimp By Bulk anymore They will still sell me a pound or two at wholesale prices. What Amazes me here in Florida Is that the local supermarkets do not carry Gulf Shrimp but rather farm shrimp or shrimp imported from asia... I think what you are doing is great and I just wish that I had the youth and health to be daring once again.....Good Luck on your Business Venture!!!!
I think Gulf Shrimp is some of the best around!!!
