If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Generally Jacques it is 2.5mg, but sometimes 1.75. Then progress in increments to 4.5 - 4.75. *Sometimes though a patient may need to go to 6mg - unusual. (I'm now on 6mg and have been for about a year.) I started on 1.75. 6mg is considered max dose. Yes, it works for me.

Hi Jacques, I started with 1.5mg tabs, which are easier to increase dose with.
Its really worth reading the thread as there is info worth knowing contained within it.
Like make sure the capsules are not compounded with SLOW RELEASE filler. The list of meds you cant take with LDN, ensuring you dont have candida, and especially what to expect.
I hit a bit of a stumbling block due to low zinc..... I hope you will post your LDN experience

Jacques, Did your dr prescribe this for you? It's great! Please let us know when you start and if it is helping. I will see my rheumy in Sept and will see if he is willing to give it to me. Take care

hi, i suggest you print info out and take it with you. so far i've asked both the rheumy and GP about considering it since neither want to move past the NSAIDs yet since i'm "undiagnosed" specifically, and they don't want to give me drugs with potentially dangerous side effects. so i offered this up to go along with their "let's try safe drugs" but instead of "that's interesting, let me learn more and we may consider it." instead, so far, both have said, "never heard of it. don't want to consider something i've never heard of." but i'm not done yet. next step will be to give the rheumy the literature.

Sue, Good idea. I will do it. My rheumy does not always like my "wisdom" regarding this, but I'm not scared of him! I will have to be quite firm to get this from him, I know that for sure! Take care

Hi,
I don't get near my PC too often.
I'm not on LDN, but would like to be and I have not mentioned it to my Rheumy as he does not believe in diets, alternative treatments, or anything except anti-inflammatory drugs.
I also have mild epilepsy, and so my Neurologist has told me not to take LDN!

Hi Jacques, I did 2, then 4 then 6. Hi Ronel... it took a third doctor for me, that I found online... sort of a holistic wellness md who had ldn listed on his front page looked like this My Gp of 18 years and Rheumy of 4 said no way, they didn't know what it was. I would start with the safety info. Basically the 'it couldn't hurt' approach.. good luck! cc

Sue, I had the same ldn experience with my rheumy so I found a backdoor. I called local pharmacists who compounded and asked if they had ever compounded low dose naltrexone. When I found one, I told him my doc wouldn't prescribe it and asked if he could tell me who in our area WAS prescribing it, and that is how I found my awesome GP who prescribes and supports me in my ldn endeavors. OH, and we all lived happily everafter. -Donette

hi donnette,
thanks for the suggestion. i am starting progesterone and talked to the compounding pharmacist today about that. while on the phone i asked him about LDN and he said sure, we do that. then he told me about a local holistic doctor that prescribes it. sounds like she's the only one in town but now i am very hopeful. will call her office tomorrow.
thanks again,
sue
