i know that when the thyroid is hypo it causes a LOT of joint pain & brain fog & fatigue. So it makes sense that when the thyroid function is normalized, our pain appears to lessen.

When Karen-the-mouse told me about how sensitive our minds, bodies & spirits are to our thyroid hormones I didn't believe her until I went thru the experience! Since I have hashimotos', I tend to fluctuate btwn hyper & hypo on different days so I have to be very aware of how I am feeling to up or lower my dose.

For several months I was having a lot of chest pains, which I figured was too much thyro meds so I lowered my dose. This occured around the same time I started LDN and was not surprised. Last week I hit rock bottom with severe brain fog and pain I couln't even function to feed myself. It took me a few days to figure it out, but I took 3 pills that afternoon & came out of the fog by bedtime!

so yeah.. I like my armour meds!! now to figure out the whole old vs new formulation....gah! why does it have to be so difficult!

I have picked up my script for LDN and will do the 3 day apple fast to prepare my body as best I can for the LDN. Also need to get bloods on Monday for a baseline to moniter any improvements.

Whilst in with the Doc she was telling me how she prescribed LDN for a 12 year old boy who was about to have surgery for colitis (sp) to remove his bowel............and yes you guessed right..................he is now healed. - fantastic

My wonderful Doc also said she has 3 Lupus patients who have responded well. She is also a Naturopath and tries everything before drugs - she is 67 yrs old, always away on conferences and two years ago worked with Doctors without Borders LOL...............gotta Luv her........

That's interesting.... my prescriber was a traditional Western medicine GP for 30 years... until he did a three year stint with Doctors without Borders. He even has ldn on his website now... huh.

I have linked a blogtalkradio interview with Prof Zagon of Penn State Uni talking about LDN. Straight from the horses mouth so to speak for anyone who may be interested.

On this page are also interviews with Dr Skip Lenz and others involved in LDN.

LDN Part Two - Night One

Started at 4.5 mg again. Insomnia. I swear my hip area feels much better (again). No pain while on my feet while juicing and then making dinner. Don't feel anywhere near as dull and "punch drunk" as I usually do.

We will see if it continues.

Also, for those that are going to use LDN and need to consider the economic side of using the medication, Skip's 30 day rate for 4.5mg capsules is $19.95 + $5.75 shipping. You're out the door for under $26. The local compounding pharmacy I used two years ago charged darn near $70 for the same script.

Kind Regards,
Jay

Day 5

• Wretched insomnia.
• Feel really good on my feet...little to no pains in my
feet, knees, or hips.
• Still have crazy energy (all things relative) despite
little sleep and only two naps over the five days to make
up for things.
• Feeling more coherent mentally.

Keep on truckin'!

Kind Regards,
Jay

I don't see why your price would be different if you are getting 30 days of 4.5mg tabs

Give them a call or send them an email.

End of week 1: - 2 July 09

Started 1.5mg at night, compounded with avicel
no dreams, woken at 4am 3 nights.
Mild easing of hip and thigh pain
Mild easing of neck and shoulder pain
**extreme tiredness/depression during the day.
Increasing to 3.mg tonight

Will update in one week.

**I am investigating the return of hypothyroid symptoms being reported by many with New formulated Armour being the possible cause for the tiredness/depression. Batch: 070817 Exp 12/09

If any other thyroid people are experiencing return of hypo symptoms on new armour, please contact Forrest Pharmaceuticals on 1-800-678-1605 Extension 67023 and ask for Pam.

BTW: Old formula Armour was soft and 'smelly' whilst new Armour is Hard and cannot be crushed.
