There is no provision for an appeal here. He'd really like to stay as he is quite happy where he is. There are just a couple of people who are problematic and he doesn't have to deal with them on a regular basis. Unfortunately, the problematic people had power.

Yes Wendy, it's the stupidity that really gets to me. Don't these people realize their actions and decisions have an impact on people's lives?

Wow, am sorry for your situation, that is a burden for sure...did they give a reason for denying tenure? Sometimes it comes down to the whim of those in power...
this puts pressure on your school finances for sure, I hope that either they reconsider or David can find some work in the next year that will help pay for the rest of your children's education...being able to give them a free education was such a plus for you in this day and age!

Yes, there were reasons, but it wasn't a cut-and-dried case, that's for sure! I'm really angry about this.
David will look for similar work at another university. Most private schools offer free education for the spouse and kids as a perk of the job.
