That's a good idea too Patty...I thought about putting together a bunch of short-stories written by victims themselves and put them maybe at the end....

Jimmy, I never thought about how a publisher would view the corruption, most of the corruption is coming from a private, for profit company that was put in charge of disbursing the 17 billion dollars that was allocated by Congress for housing recovery...the only six houses that have been rebuilt in the ninth-ward of New Orleans, were built by Brad Pitt....the rest of the beaurocratic red-tape is just typical government stuff....FEMA is about as useful as a bikini in Alaska but come on, the president appointed the head of the Arabian Horse Assn. to run FEMA....I can see the connection, can yall? But originally, I was just going to develope a website that I bought to bring some attention to these issues....a "Smoking Gun" of the South type site....

Kat...thanks for all the tips, I see what you mean exactly and right now I have the time on my hands to dedicate to this....I can't wait to write the chapter of events that take place after the levees broke....the chaos was unreal, it was like being caught in a civil war in some third world country.....a reporter on the scene talking to his cameraman, "OMG, pan over there...are you getting all of this?...when we get back to the U.S., we need to get these people some help....OMG, we are in the United States....."

wow, Michelle--you are right many people in the US have no idea about all that you described. We assume that people are being helped (although we realize there must be much red tape and frustration) but we don't hear much about corruption. I would think that many would be interested in hearing the story, and even funding the cause.
I would also talk to an attorney about libel-type issues as well--you don't want to get sued by somebody...
Also, on another message board I read, there is a gentleman who is blind, and he has a voice recognition software that he uses (he tried a few)...I can't remember the exact name but think it has "dragon" somewhere in the name. I'll try to go to that board and search for what he called it--that might be the way to go for you.

hmmm...not a bad idea Alan, she could be a burlesque dancer perhaps by day and a true vixen by night, maybe I could cast her as Mother Nature's evil twin... But as for people laughing at your work, I'm not buying that one, you're brilliant....

Hi ChaCha...thanks for the info on the "dragon", I'm going to look into it and good advice on the potential legal liability also....the red-tape is just unbelievable, here we are 4 years later and there are still so many people waiting for help, many of these victims probably could have financially survived losing everything once but not two, three and in some cases four times....and most of them had no jobs to return to because their places of employment were destroyed as well.....but you can't just up and leave, you are legally responsible for your property and you must stay behind and deal with insurance adjusters.....it was 7 months after the first hurricane before I even saw an adjuster due to the vast numbers of properties that needed their attention....so we sat and waited and did what we could to protect and defend our property while thousands of inmates were running loose, they couldn't let them drown in their cells, so they just let them go.....thanks again for the help!

The voice recognition software I mentioned earlier that the blind man uses on another forum I visit is called "Dragon Naturally Speaking" if you decide to check into that.
