Hi,
I think one of the problems is that most drs. don't think we have AS. But she will stick with it, I hope. Take care

You bet we do..Jerky, Trail Bologna, all that good stuff. Have a big cold smoker built back at our little hunting cabin, full of jerky, sausage, bologna, bacon it takes a better part of a day, hams take a couple of days after 3 weeks dry curing. We can keep the heat down in the lower 100s and pour the smoke to it, works out real well.

Hi Lon, I realy hope your right. A few yrs ago I started having problems with a rhumi & he is a professor, Every thing was ok while I was going fine on the prednisolne but I started having realy bad spasm's in my ribs & had real proplems getting them under control, & the worse I got the nastier he got, In the end he tried to tell me I didn't have AS at all or Fibromyalga & he was'nt going to let me go on Embral & that it wouldn't help me anyway, he tried to make out it was all in my head even though I'm HLA-B27+ & my inflamitory markers were sky high & I've had Iritis. He said the rib thing was unheard of he also said that he had hundreds of people on his books & none of them were like me, meaning I was neurotic. I tried to tell him that this has been going on for almost 20yrs & that my GP had a file on me that is as thick as a Bible, I also told him that a person who would even bother to put something like this on for all these yrs would have to be totaly insane & the old sh*t looked at me is if I were. Twice I left there in tiers, I wasn't going to give him a third go so I never went back, I've only just recently met another person with AS, & he told me about this website, also helped me find another rhumi, & I'm happy to say this one listend to me, put me strait on Humira & it works a treat. I realy felt for your daughter Lon when I read your post as I know just how she feels & I'm sure many others do as well.

Hi Lon

What a relief to know that AS is just lower back fusion .. Now I can tell my eye doctor she doesn't have to check the eyes , and the rheumy that he doesn't have to worry about anything else and my ortho surgeon that all my other joints are fine.. Can you please tell that dr thanks or better yet tell him to go back to school and actually learn something...
I guess I have really been lucky in my doctors even the rheumy that I no longer see wasn't that bad..
Give your daughter a hug

Take care
Valerie

Birda,
I am after her to keep at it. But she is afraid that starting over will be worse than being disappointed.
How are you feeling Birda? Did you have a good summer!?
It is supposed to be 104* tomorrow!
