If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I was in an accident to 5 years ago with the kids.
We were driving north beside one of those big U-Haul moving vans and he was turning right into a parking lot and when he turned he swung out and hit my van almost sending us into oncoming traffic.
Luckily we were all in seat belts...Ethan was fine although I had him checked out by the chiro. Tori had to see him for about 2 weeks, I of course since I tensed up and my knees were pushed into the steering column had to go for about 2 months then go to rehab for about a month.
They paid for everything, fixed the van ALL the medical bills and a settlement on top of that. I figured I would have to fight with them but there first offer was more than I expected and i wasn't looking to milk anybody, we thought it was fair so we took it.
Make sure you dont sign off until you know everyone is ok.

Hi Kat, Victoria, McKenzie and I are just fine. My neck doesn't hurt anymore and there are no other aches and pains showing up. Hopefully I'll be able to get my van fixed soon.

Yes we were all wearing our seat belts. It's law here and I don't need a ticket for that.

Oh yes his insurance co. will be paying to get my van fixed and for a car to drive while that is being done. No such thing as medical bills here so we don't have to worry about that.

Hi Sarah, I was in a serious car accident in 1981 similar to the one you describe. The only thing is I have never remembered anything about it. I had a head injury and my dad's brand spanking new car was a complete right off. The accident had to be settled within 2 years....unfortunately the person who broadsided us had 9 charges put against her for hitting us and her Insurance Co. filed for bankruptcy.....we got very little. The money doesn't matter though....it covered the time I was off work and my dad's new car was replaced.

Hi Carol, The funny thing is, I wasn't really shook up at all.Just my daughter Victoria was and my son comforted her while I exchanged paperwork with the person that hit me. I was just really ticked that this guy was stupid enough to turn right in front of me. He was shook up a bit though....I have never seen anyone shake like he was. I'm taking the van in for an estimate tomorrow morning and hopefully they will be able to get it fixed soon.

I was watching a show on TV last evening and the were talking about air bags in the newer cars. Then they showed some prototype air bag jacket they are planning to market for people with brittle bones. The demo looked like a good idea and may be something we all will need when out driving around in the future.

Hi Sherri,
Well that is discouraging news... I never fear accidents from my driving, only the others out on the road and sounds like this is a case in point for this guy.
I do not drive here yet, it is very different. Nearly 80% of all intersections are uncontrolled (no traffic light or stop/yield sign)... it is a bit insane and unnerving, but actually a bit safer as well. Everyone needs to think a bit more and everyone slows down when they approach the intersection... but you still have those that always think they have the right of way (especially taxi's). Generally here the car to the right has the right away (oh... and all streets are one way).
Best to you, you will get through this as well. When I was extremely depressed I had mold issues in my home and had to have the area around the furnace sealed off, torn down and rebuilt (all without insurance). For nearly 6 weeks lived without hot water, air conditioning nor heating in Phoenix... luckily was Sept and neither to warm or cold. So sometimes it seems everything is crashing down all around you, but you will get through this as well.
Best to you Sherri,
Tim

Thanks Tim, I just got back from the autobody shop and the guy there said that there is considerable damage and to be prepared for the Insurance co. to write it off. It's a 2000 but even 8 years later they aren't worth fixing I guess. I was not happy about that news because I really don't have the time to be shopping for another vehicle. Hopefully it won't be a write off but probably, in the end, it would benefit me if it was. So we will wait and see what the Insurance Co. says. With the price off gas these days it would be nice to get something a little easier on gas.
Take care
Sherri

Sherri, thank God everyone is okay. Did the guy that caused the accident have insurance? Cindy
