Cindy,
Dear friend, I am sorry that you are feeling so poorly. Your story is familiar. That is why I turned to whiskey, as a conservative minister it was a tough decision. Yes, I know all the problems, but it is the only thing that will even begin to make the pain tollerabel. It is during these times that I take personal inventory and begin to be thankful for what I have been able to do. At the same time I release the future knowing that I will scratch and claw for better days, but I try to find contentment. My prayer is that you have better days ahead.

Lon

Cheryl,

I hope I never get so low as to do something illegal. I've been a good girl all my life, and I would hate to goof up now, especially when I have a house full of inpressionable children watching me. I hope I'm too old to start. It would be too easy as MJ is WV's biggest cash crop. I was just sharing my sister's advice. I hope she doesn't go down that road either, but I can understand how she feels. It is such a struggle to get a diagnosis, why should it be the same for treatment?? Animals have more rights than we do. Leave an animal in this kind of agony, and you could will be arrested, fined, and even do time for it. These dr's get treated like gods, and they supposedly have done society a service by keeping me off drugs. Guess I have an attitude problem, too.

Hugs,

Cindy

Hi Beverly,

I think I have my hubby talked into going with me next time. He is the one who has to help out of bed, get dressed, and hear me moan and groan. I think you have given me a good idea. Someone else describing my pain wouldn't be just me complaining as usual. I'm just afraid that I will lose control, and who knows what I might say then. I'd hate to make things worse than they already are. The Darvocets are not touching my pain, so I will be calling back to be sure. Maybe I'll just let Roger be the one to call. Thanks,

Hugs,

Cindy

Carl,

The indocin was the first med I got from the rheumy. He told me it was great stuff, and I would be back to walking in a week or so and everything would be fine. I went home, and thought, this is so easy. Take a pill, and the AS will be a thing of the past. Was I in ever in for a ride. The indocin headache hit me almost immediately. It was so debiltating. Called the dr, they just rx'd another NSAID, then another.... and well, I'm still looking for relief. I've come up empty with the NSAID's, I just can't tolerate any of them. Even tried a couple of DMARD's, but I'm allergic to them, too. I'm glad your dr knows someone personally with AS, it helps, I'm sure. So if your pain gets out of hand, he should be willing to help you control it. I'm not going to try anything illegal, got too many youngins watching my example, and if I can go 41 years without touching illegal substances, I can last a bit longer. I'm enlisting my hubby's help in the fight for pain meds. Surely I'll get a lucky break sometime.

Hugs,

Cindy

Cheryl,

My old chat buddy, we have had some good times. I'll never forget, we were blabbing back and forth when the world trade center was hit by the first plane. They say you'll never forget where you were or what you were doing.

I'm not depressed or in pain, either one, that's all in my head. As for the dr not helping me, I don't guess they would call it patient neglect, cause he is saving me from a life of being a drug addict. Such a noble cause, don't you think??

Hugs,

Cindy

Amanda,

I think I need to try the pain clinic. They should be smart enough to recognize pain, even if they don't know what AS is. I hope you are feeling well. I have to smile whenever I see your Tigger doing his tail thingie. There's one spondylitis-free cat!!!

Thanks for your happy post. I'm gonna try the NSD again, I think. I just need to feel a bit better so I'll be able to do all the extra cooking, first. But it's so hard to smell all that fresh-baked bread, and not get to eat any. I hate crying all the time, makes me feel like I'm a wimp. I need to pick myself, dust off my behind, and keep on going.

Hugs,

Cindy

Thanks for the sympathy, I do appreciate it. A hot shower feels good, and I don't even try to lay down without heating pads. I've tried cold packs, but they seem to make me hurt worse. I thought that maybe it would cool down the fire in my back. Someday I'll have relief, it's just not today. Hope you have some good days ahead, too.

Hugs,

Cindy

Debbie,

This has been hard to post, and now I can't seem to shut up. I don't know what I would do without KickAS. The people here have been so nice to me, when I'm here I feel like I'm with family. Other than chocolate this place helps me most with my depression, picks me up out of the doldrums, gives me a kick start to get back to living. Wish I could find a dr with as much smarts. Thanks for your friendship, and the devotional book you sent to me. It has really helped me so much. Lovie dovies back to you, you're a wonderful person. May God bless you up one side and down the other!!!

Hugs,

Cindy

Lon,

Thank you for your prayers and thoughts. There is so much of life that I still want to live. I hate to let AS steal anymore of my life. I want to be a good wife and mom. My family means everyting to me. I guess that is what keeps me on the straight and narrow. Kids are so impressionable, and how I walk through this trial will teach them more than any words can say. Hope you get to feeling better yourself.

Hugs,

Cindy
