I believe I may be the only one that's currently doing the protocol that's on this board. As far as success or not, it's too early for me to tell you how it will be for me in the long run. I feel like I'm just beginning to turn the corner at around 9 months, and I can tell you that this is not a quick or easy route to take. The clincher for me was the list of Hypervitaminosis-D symptoms as I'd had a good number of them over the years and never connected them together. Check the thread here to see if you recognize any of them: Symptoms

I do have a friend that has been on the MP for about 2 years for his RA and in talking to him he thinks he also has AS though has never been diagnosed with it. He's gone from being disabled to being able to work again full time. You can read his story here:Ival's Story

If you would like more info I'd recommend beginning a questions thread at the MP Questions Site here: MP Questions Site I think I remember you saying you had some eye trouble as well so you might take a look at this article which talks about treating ocular inflamation with the MP: Ocular Inflamation Article

I know there are several forms, to oversimplify: D2 is the plant derived kind and D3 is the animal derived (and more common) kind. The liver converts either form into 25-hydroxycholecalciferol which the kidney then turns into 1,25-hydroxycholecalciferol (the most active form)

Where did you hear that the milk additive dissipates? that is good information

I had the same fear going to the doc but it turned out to be totally unfounded. The fact that I had tried and failed several other treatments certainly made it easier. I was going downhill in a hurry and didn't have much to turn to and I think we both knew that.

As far as Marshall himself that's up to you decide. I don't exactly have a spotless background myself so it's not an issue with me. He's certainly a different guy but I was impressed with his scientific model because it just seemed to fit my situation with all the bizarre symptoms I was developing...

Hey Richedie,

I've already tried jumping off a bridge, and it doesn't help much either. I wouldn't recommend it as an alternative treatment.

Hi NorCalJim, I was doing some reading on the mp and it looks plausible. It is very extreme and scary but something to seriously consider. I would like to stay in touch with you to see how you are doing. Could you keep me updated?

Here's an interesting biography of Trevor Marshall, you might want to read before buying into this "protocol".

I came across a pretty good article on bacteriality.com titled "Top 14 misconceptions about the MP: addressed and explained" that may be of interest to anyone researching the Marshall Protocol.

Here's a link for anyone interested: Misconceptions

I've been on the protocol for over a year now and so far it's been working as advertised...

For anyone interested in the Marshall Protocol you might find the following presentation from the 2008 International Congress on Autoimmunity informative.

It is presented by Tom Perez formerly of the US FDA and includes results from the study which I took part in recently, note that AS is included in the chart of treated conditions.

The video can be viewed full screen by moving your mouse over the video and clicking on the symbol at the lower right with the four arrows...
