Hi

I've had Costo for almost 2 weeks now, and I'm fed up with it.

It isnt very painful, which I'm thankful for, but I have an annoying slight breathlessness if I over exert myself. I also feel a little pressure in very upper chest (center of chest at clavicle height), which comes and goes.

My chest plate & upper ribs hurt a bit in the morning while they're stiff, but only get really painful if prodded.....!

I've used a topical anti inflam, and mild heat on the area, but do you have any other suggestions or exercises I might try to ease the gentle pressure sensations?

Thanks in advance

Amber,

I am sorry you are feeling bad.

When I am having this the only thing that helps me is steroids ans pain meds.

If I am trying to rest or sleep it really helps to have a pillow pushed up against my chest.

(For Gerri) costo is the inflammation of the lining of the sheath that covers your ribs, and can be very painful, it can make you feel like you have strained something all the way to feeling like a heart attack, and almost always makes it hard to breathe and extremely painful to sneeze or cough.

I hope this helps,

Lisa

Hi Lisa

I have had this pain but never had a name for it. I have pain at the breast bone. I am not sure if this fall under Costo also. Very painful

I have mention this pain to people giving me a mammagram. They say had nothing to do with breast.

Hugs

Gerri

Yes Gerri,

Alot of times if you push your breast bone it is very painful so it sounds like you have had it to.

Hugs,

Lisa

Sounds like what I had 13 years ago...end result was my ribs, sternum and spine getting together for a group hug...

I so understand your pain. I am having problems right now with it. It does come and go and so far has only lasted a few weeks at a time. But right now it is so sore I have a hard time wearing my bra ( sorry guys). I also get that breathless feeling alot lately too. So far nothing really helps, I put the heating pad on and used bio freeze/ tiger balm ( not at the same time ) and it only helps a short while. Also hot showers in the morning helps loosen things up alittle also. So far nothing has gotten rid of it completely...Sorry I am not much help but I know how you feel believe me...

Hi

Still breathless, although not as much now, however, the real sore pain is coming on without having to prod! . Ditto on the bra thing Angie! Cant bear to be hugged, and not sleeping well either.
Pressure like sensations gone though which makes me feel less like its a heart problem! (you know how it is...)
I found a post with someone suggesting lying on your front in the morning, and taking some deep breaths. I'm trying it out anyway...
