Ahhh but biscuits are so tasty they never have a chance to get stale, let alone airborne, so you're perfectly safe Sarah!

Now raw veggies are a different matter entirely; a frail rib could get fractured if struck by an errant cabbage.

Sorry, it's the gorgeous sunset out my window at this moment,... lol
Cheers,
mig

Hi Dana & Welcome!

Two things you said that I find HORRIBLE!

The first is that you are a nurse and you had a Dr. that told you that all of that was in your head.

Two that you are a nurse who works for a hospital and your insurance wont pay for Enbrel, which sounds like that is what you need.

I am glad they finally did a bone scan on you, that is how they found my inflammation after being in the hospital for 2 weeks couldnt walk..I could tell they were beginning to believe I was making the pain up.

I am getting ready to start remicade, I am both excited and afraid.

Just wanted to say welcome there are lots of great peole here and information.

If you have any other questions or you just need an ear just pm me I have a daughter who is 23 one who is 21 one who is 12 and a son who is 8.

Take Care,

Lisa

Perhaps hard working doctors who are after all, as human and frail as you and me; may have wives, husbands, sons, daughters, sisters and so on who may find yours and the many other 'Pat' gratuitous and all to willingly offered 'slag a doctor today' responses by members of this board, to be 'insensitive too'!
There are two doctors to my knowledge who are members here, how do you think they must feel to read this kind of stuff? But perhaps, since they are merely non-caring doctors, their sensitivity doesn't count!

Thanks for mentioning this for those who may not be aware, Alan. That we have our very own dear doctors here as long time members who certainly do count is our tremendous fortune. The selfless contributions to KA have been enormous and should be cherished and treasured, imho!

Are they really? lol Trust you to use such a silly name for a Peek Frean cookie!

hugs,
mig

Sorry you misunderstood me. I was not speaking of the doctor as being insensitive but the security guard who told her that she walked like she just fell out of a tree.

Now that you bring it up!!!! I do have a problem w/ doctors that use that line as a 'pat' answer. It seems to be on an upswing these days. That answer has caused me to have permanent damage to my body & in the past year I had one friend who nearly died from carbon momoxide poisoning from her furnace & another that was close to a diabetic coma (sugar 696!),who were sent away, more than once w/that answer& Xanax! A hardworking & caring doctor would not send someone away with such an answer w/o a more thourough investigation! Thereby, would not be offended by what i said.

I don't think I hold, anything in particular, against security guards.

My apologies if I offended any doctors or security guards with my reply. I don't think any one group of people fits any specific group of character traits. However, the truth is the truth.

wow! out of all the posts I've read...I've never read one that started out kinda the same way as mine. I was diagnosed with endometriosis. Was on Lupron for it, had a "big" surgery to remove scar tissue but no hysterectomy. Now I've been on birth control pills which he says will help control all that growth...and it seems to be doing the trick. That really hasn't seemed to be an issue for me anymore..but who knows??? with the AS pain/stiffness,fatigue, how would I know if the endometriosis was bothering me. It never disrupted my cycles it was just painful.

Anyway, my hips have been hurting for years and I thought it was due to being very aggressive as an athlete in the past. But what really got me one day was the fatigue. That really scared me. I work in the hospital too and I remember that being a pivotal moment when i said to myself, "self..when YOUR patients get up and are too tired to move and shake a lot, it is because they are weak and SICK. it's not normal to feel weak all the time and too tired to live." thus my introduction to AS. I have not had so much pain that I couldn't walk tho..but I limped around a lot I'm on Enbrel and doing much better now. I'm glad that you will have an opportunity to try it. Hang in there...if you get it, sometimes it takes a while to work. Took me 13 weeks before i realized superman was back in business...just in time for my hospital to change insurances at annuual enrollment..and that insurance wasn't gonna cover it. But I'm back on it now, had to do some @$$ kicking but me, the doc, and office girl...we did it! Thank God for that!! That was an answered prayer Keep at it Amy
