If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi Connie Yes - I did have arthroscopic surgery on my knee. I'd managed somehow to tear a cartilage (while waiting for my back op!), so they repaired it. Unfortunately I have so much osteo arthritis in there tho' that they had to remove part of another cartilage, so it's pretty much bone-on-bone now, and often still feels very stiff and painful (almost as if they've tightened-up the cartilage too much... ) However, hopefully the hydro will help. I haven't been able to exercise properly for some months as I had 2 levels fused in my spine (that's L3/4 4/5 last October, and L5/S1 done in 1991) so not much mobility left in that area...I have to be very careful not to put too much stress on the spine higher up now Don't want to have to go thru all that again See you in the middle of the Pacific one day then.....??? (Watch out for the sharks!! ) Hugs, Sue

Sue, it's great to see you. I'm so glad your surgeries went well. I've found it does take alot longer to recover from those surgeries with AS. The inflamation factor just makes it tougher. I will be having # 8 knee surgery in 2 weeks and then scheduling #9 shortly there after. I'm sooooo glad to hear you are in hydro therapy. I worked in aquatics for 15 years, teaching, coaching, and managing a large facility in this area. I found the best thing by far for AS is water exercise. I taught many types of classes over the years but my Arthritis classes and Deep Water classes were the most rewarding. I have found that my not teaching and being out of the water myself has been the biggest contributing factor to my AS flares. Never give up the water world Stop by often and let us know how things are going Cindy

Hi Cindy Thanks for the welcome and your words of encouragement I often think I just can't muster up the energy to drive to the pool, change, shower, exercise, shower, change again and then drive home...... However, once I'm in that pool I'm always sooo glad I did make the effort, and I can certainly feel the benefit At the moment I'm just doing exercises given to me by the physio, but I'm looking forward to being able to go to "group therapy" classes Good luck with your knee surgery. I hope all goes well. Sue

Hi Maggie How are you? I love your furry friends, BTW Hubby isn't too good, unfortunately. He had surgery about 3 weeks ago to remove the ileostomy but has since had complications, so has been back in hospital again on IV antibiotics. So frustrating, as this should have been the easiest part of the whole darn process.... He's home again at the moment, but far from well. We're waiting for biopsy results from his last colonoscopy, and praying that he doesn't need more surgery Thanks for your concern. Sue

Oh dear Sue. I was hoping your news was going to be much better than that. Likely, the worry over your husband has also slowed your own healing. I'm truly hoping for you that this is just a bad period in your lives, from which you are both going to emerge, feeling reday to carry on again.
Many Hugs Maggie

Hi Cara Good to see you too. Hubby still having a few problems, unfortunately. His ileostomy removal, which was a relatively simple procedure and should have been 2-5 day stay in hospital, hasn't worked out quite as planned, so he's been back in hospital again with complications We're now waiting for all the test results and biopsies to come back, but at least he's home again now. Hopefully it's nothing too serious, as they don't want to have to operate on him again! Will keep you posted. Thanks for asking. Sue

Hi Pam Thanks for the lovely warm welcome back Sorry you've been going thru such tough times as well but glad to hear you seem to be recovering now. Hope all continues to go well. My hubby has been battling bowel cancer these last 16 months so I can imagine how hellish life must have been for you I'm not surprised you haven't felt like using the hydro pool. I bet it's going to feel wonderful when you get back into it next month Best wishes for your continuing recovery, and good luck for the future. Love and hugs, Sue
