Hi Wanda
Well, my rheumy only does wednesday's at the hospital i go to and I know that he is not there tomorow so it could be a few weeks before I get to see him. I shall be talking to his secretary today anyway so I will let you know.
Thinking about it I have had the tingling in my hand for a long time but just accepted it as part of everything else we go through, it only now its going numb that I have taken notice. oops, shall take more notice next time anything new arises.
I'm off to get ready for some lovely hydro

Hi,

I had some similar problems, my fingers getting big, doc told me hat it is normal, because they are in a flair, and it usually goes away in a few days.
It hurts and I cant move it, but important is that it goes away soon.
At the moment my left foot and knee is swollen, it is a bit harder to walk but its ok.

Try some cold gel, or creme to put on it.

Hi Wanda, I sometimes get a swollen wrist and fingers when I've been working hard here at the office. Alot of typing, you see.

Anyway, just wanted to see how it's feeling today.

Hugs,

Kat

Hi Kat,
Thanks for your reply. Mine swells pretty much around the knuckles. The pain is more in the wrist, thumb and knuckles. I know what you mean about the typing though. I was so excited to get so many posts yesterday, that I think I overdid the keyboard. It's quite sore today, so I've backed off some. I do want everyone to know how much I appreciate the forum, so I try to answer all replies and also give support to others. It's so important. Hugs back, Wanda

Thanks Sanela,
You're right. Friday was the worst day, then it toned down some. Yesterday I spent a lot of time on the board, so it's worse again today. It's not as swelled as it was, but still painful. I think since Friday was the first time it swelled, it kind of spooked me. It seems to be a normal happening with AS considering the replies I've gotten. Thanks so much for replying, it does help. I hope your knee and foot settle down soon. Take care, Wanda

Hi Debra,
Thanks for your reply and support. I'm sorry to hear about your wrist though. It affects you in a different way, as far as daily living, when your wrist/hands are involved. Something else to adjust to. That's good about your new med, I hope it continues to help. Take care, Wanda

I get the swelling in both hands. It affects my wrists to the point that I cannot wear my watch. It affects my left thumb.

I have arthritis in my little fingers. I can feel that ligament style pain at the back of my fingers. It hurts in my right elbow and forearm when I am typing. I try not to use my little fingers.

There are times when my right hand has gone into muscle spasm as I have been working. This has happened when I have been using the keypad especially the calculator keypad.

I hate cracking my fingers but sometimes it happens and I usually feel better afterwards.

My body tends to swell and retain fluid during heat and humidity and it has been that way since I was a teenager. I am now 51 (eek I am too young to be 50)

Maggie
