Hi Carol, thank you for your well wishes!

I don't know when I'm going to take the part II. Because so few people can 'sit' it at the same time (only as many people as there are stations), and because it's so labour intensive for the GMC (examiners in each room), the exam is held every two weeks, unlike the part I which is every two months. So, I have a bit more flexibility in booking it. At this point in time, I think I'm going to do a bit of studying first, and take a course, and THEN book the exam, so that I have something to work to (otherwise I'll just procrastinate to my hearts content ).

Thanks again, I'll keep the good folk at KA posted on my developments.

Hugs,
Jeanna

Thanks Smed!

I think I'm remembering correctly, that you have children who have done schooling in similar disciplines? Regardless, thank you very much for the kudos. Great to see you around

Jeanna

Actually the mannequin is the perfect patient for UK docs - they hate it when you do actually answer back!

'Then you should say what you mean,' the March Hare went on. 'I do,' Alice hastily replied; 'at least - at least I mean what I say - that's the same thing , you know.' 'Not the same thing a bit!' said the Hatter.

I am so happy for you. I posted earlier but then I looked and it is not there. I have had that problem some. I just wanted you to know that I am thrilled for you. You will be a great doctor!

Blessings.

Congratulations, Jeanna! I'm very proud of you and not the least bit surprised. Hugs to you (and Loz for being such a supportive hubby) from the Isle of Man.

Congratuations Jeanna!!

Was there really any doubt that you would pass the exam??
I know that you will do really well on the second part but you have my prayers, crossed fingers ( to hard to cross the toes right now) and my best wishes to help with the second part.

Take care
Valerie

Sally,

good for you that you are intending to do the grief counselling for the ambulance service. This is an area that really needs some work here in Oz.

Hi,

Yes I find it's late here at night well not that late, its only 9:30pm but it does mean most of the times that I'm online no-one else is usually around!

the whole goal reaching thing is all MINE!!! hehe....i'm full of fascinating phrases......my whole life is beyond belief at the moment and all sorts of wonderful tidbits and advice comes spewing forth and usually sounds full of great wisdom...(If only they really knew me thay would likely think twice). I've probably had one too many people come up to me lately and say "I just want to rub up against you as you have such great energy???"

I gave up my goal of going back into ambulance work due to the AS, I just wouldnt be able to keep up the pace in an M.V.A I'm afraid and the positions and lifting would just be too much......so as Healing is still so much a part of me I'm getting into the holistic side of things, I'm starting reiki and moving into counselling of grief and trauma for emergency service personell. I'm doing a few other wacky things and thankfully they are not as mind straining as the great work your doing. Gee I'd love to one day sit down with you and just hear the whole story again straight from your mouth. The whole story from the deciding to move into medicine in your post, right through to the last exams. The good and bad....it really does seem fascinating!

The UK is one lucky counrty to have on board a very profesional compassionate doc like yourself, Well done....

P.S who cares what the time is back home, do what I do and call family whenever .....it's half the excitment...lol (you just dont know how they'll react)...its part of the inbuilt family contract to put up with early excited calls from over pumped personalities...........hang on that may just be my weirdness coming through. thats one tidbit, pharse your best to ignore.....

Sal

Strutsy,

this is very good news that you have passed the examination. It takes a lot of effort to do those exams. The last lot I took qualified me to be a CPA but I could not get the right sort of work here in Sydney to keep on going. However, for a woman at the age of 40 at the time it was a big achievement.

Please, oh please do your study for part II, I know that you can do it, because you really do have a lot of good knowledge and you do need to work as a doctor in Britain.

BTW we in OZ tend to use the same terminology as the Brits (Poms). We have paracetemol instead of acetimophen (Tylenol). The brand names here are Panadol, Herron, and yes we can get Tylenol.

It is not as confusing as it seems when someone explains that acetimophen and paracetamol are the same thing, because the ingredient is imported into the country through the one source . I worked for the company that imported the paracetamol into Australia for roughly 6 months.

Maggie
