If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I also went through the naming thing and being the un-labelled "curiosity" - no specialist doctor had had an "arthritic" patient with left knee inflammations every 14.1 days on the dot. Ho Hum. $120 please. I also had embrionic AS and that later took over. Yes, i am as Paula may be suggesting, trying to encourage a shift towards understanding and studying and self-research rather than name-seeking - there is no lack of understanding or empathy and a label does make it all sit easier to let one move onward and forward. You are trying to support your GIT with diet and supplements so what else can one do? Fast a little or mono-diet a while. Nothing like a grape diet for a few days either. Reduce the choice, remove the multi-variable analysis vacuum maybe You may think you have no dietary variety and would consider my diet as monastic, but the gut bugs see a feast so which bug/condition is winning out is a guessing game. Not just Kp, not just HLA B27. Joint pain and inflam equals toxins and bugs and auto-immune so if one can reduce that to mainly auto-immune effect... You may have noticed from my posts i like a simple approach to food to minimize possibilities, heal the GIT and then extend the diet. All just ideas Missy, but PA and sunshine seem connected. Sunshine activates Vitamin D production with its calcium balance and a response like our friend Krishna may be worth trying. Returning to a staple like tapioca may be fine if it suits your genes/enzymes. Krishna went back to rice(?) and his family's local foods, while i choose to eat sauerkraut as i have germanic ancestry... Hope you find your way to your own connections - maybe you tell your doctors what you have...

Missie,
It might be helpful for you to know something about the genetics of celiac sprue. Most of the people with a northern European background (i.e. Britain, Ireland, Scandinavia, Netherlands, Germany) and with celiac sprue, have a gene called DQ2. This gene is strongly linked to other genes, which are inherited together. The relevant part of the sequence is DQ2-DR3-B8. DR3 does not code for RA, instead it codes for childhood diabetes with hypoglycemia. B8 does not code for AS, instead it may code for delayed onset of celiac sprue (delayed from childhood to middle age, 40's being very common). You describe your mother as being diagnosed with celiac sprue, and you may have inherited this gene sequence from her. If your background is eastern European, Ashkenazi, or southern European, then the genetics are much more complex, and this information may not be as useful, in that case.
You can order a gene test for celiac sprue from this web site:

Hope this is helpful,
Jan
